NYSE Texas to be headquartered in Dallas

The New York Stock Exchange, part of Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (NYSE: ICE), announced on Wednesday plans to launch NYSE Texas, a fully electronic equities exchange, headquartered in Dallas.

Texas is home to more NYSE-listed companies than any other U.S. state, and this would give the companies an option to list their stocks in the Lone Star State.

On Monday, Governor Abbott met with NYSE: ICE Founder, Chairman, and CEO Jeffrey Sprecher and NYSE Group President Lynn Martin to discuss the launch.

Good news for the Great State of Texas!

I'm also curious about criminal jurisdiction along the same lines. A lot of financial crimes are filed in SDNY, would this be TX now?

Get it on the ballot formally. That's a compromise. Can always wait and see if we have a genuine ongoing revival, and this lasts past 2028.

Can't say who, but there is a large company here is Houston that is in the process of moving from Delaware to Texas. Can't say what industry because I just can't. It will take time however.

Houston isn't the answer, but Dallas County does present a lot of problems. City and County governments are both cesspools. The court system is beyond a mess. Many of the judges are either incompetent or have a God-like complex. I don't even want to get into the problems with the DA -- he's certifiable. There must be meaningful change to the county administration as a whole for this to be effective. The Texas Republican Party needs to throw some serious resources into ousting people like Clay Jenkins and a whole lot of judges. I think that can be done, but it won't come cheap.

So what would this do for me as an investor? Will there be companies trading on NYSE Texas that are not traded on the NYSE itself? Would it provide lower trading fees?

Gonna, have to something about that official name though. Nothing in Texas should have 'New York' on it unless it's a pizza parlor.

East Tx is a huge hub for Patent Law cases, already. Companies target filing in like Tyler for IP cases.

The ONLY people who think Houston > Dallas are people who are born and raised in Houston.

Once you get out of Houston a couple of times .. you realize how ****ty it is.

Is Dallas great? No... but let's not pretend people choose to move to Houston as if it is a destination place.

Some of us born and raised in Houston realized on our very own that DFW is superior in many, many ways.

I was always told Houston is where you go to start out making money in business, Dallas is where you go to make really big money and where to spend it.

Still love my Astros though.

For those in Houston who don't get out of Harris County...

Dallas has 1 of the 12 Federal Reserve Banks.
DFW is the 5th busiest airport in the world. And HQ to 2 major airlines.
Dallas is 3rd in terms of Data Centers in America
I35 N/S is the major commerce roadway from Mexico to the rest of America.

I20/30 E/W is the major transport from coast to coast.

Dallass is terrible, Houston is much more international/business city there is literally nothing in the DFW area of significance and their sports teams blow

With all due respect, not one of those things would make me want to live there. Not that I would want to live in Houston either...

This is more like Blockchain / Tokenization of Assets / Digital Age Finance is the future......

Much cheaper to build data centers in North Texas than in NY and Chicago and have we abundant energy to power them. Much better infrastructure, cheaper housing, etc.

DFW is going to have a good amount of growth over the next 4 years.
