This is one of the best things Trump has done thus far imo. Forcing EV mandates to reduce CO2 is stupidity only a liberal would embrace.

Elon has already said that it will hurt Tesla some, but hurt his competitors more. He already got all the free gov giveaways he needed, so he's happy to take a little hit to make sure his competitors can't get off the ground.

Tesla has the best charging network and it's not even close. It's other EV's that really need help with charging infrastructure

Exactly. There are Telsa charging stations in mall parking lots! Most of the time when I drive by, there are cars charging at the station.

Good point. And since there's a lot of auto makers that are fit to use Tesla chargers, it shouldn't really disrupt those companies either.

PLEASE eliminate the CAFE standards that Obama/Biden put in place. Codify this with legislation.

It's caused so many problems with new vehicles, even one's that have been historically reliable vehicles. It is AWFUL for the consumer.

LOL, his competitors had access to the same "giveaways" you claim he had access to since the beginning. Why did they not take advantage and build EVs and stations? And the government wasn't forcing anyone to buy his products.

To claim the government is now holding down his competitors by not giving these subsidies and mandating EVs is idiotic.

Meh. I dont mind investing in new tech and infrastructure. Electric vehicles are here to stay in some capacity so it would make sense to build infrastructure.

However, I whole heartedly agree we shouldnt be forcing manufactures to make EVs or people to drive them.

It seemed like the government was tipping the scales in favor of Teslas EV competitors during the Biden administration. He seems to be happy to stop that crap, even if it mean less overall gubmint support for EVs.

Tesla is profitable. only EV close to that without subsites. This will kill off the competition.

I was in a meeting with one car company that wanted to make boutique stops for their clients similar to United Club. Think upscale rest stop. Don't think that will happen anymore. cost to much for the building and service for the market share they have.

Doing away with CAFE entirely, or setting the limit to 1MPG for all classes of vehicles at least, would do wonders for US manufacturing and vehicle costs.
