I hope Trump investigates this entire affair and all the players involved, whoever they are. Even going back in time.

quote from the article;
  • Andrew Natsios, who ran USAID under President George W. Bush and is a lifelong conservative Republican, calls such moves "illegal" and "outrageous." What Musk and Rubio are doing "is criminal. They can't abolish the aid program without a vote of Congress
According to statements from the Administration they are not shutting down USAID.
Someone needs to explain this to this professor.
Also, calling someone a bold faced liar seems grounds for a slander or defamation lawsuit.

It is shut down.

You mean permanently? I don't think anyone in the administration thinks that is off the table. I know some judges and congressional members think it should be.

No. it's the response to the same liars trying to hide our own expenditures from us. It's illegal, and they need to be brought to justice. Anyone defending it is corrupt himself.
Absolutely anything illegal needs to be stopped and punished. Any big program like USAID is bound to have some corruption involved, same as happened with each of the three COVID relief packages, and it needs to be discovered and rooted out. Throwing out the baby with the bath water has never been a good idea though. You don't apply an axe to the neck to get rid of a hangnail.
No. Nothing about USAID is legitimate. It is a huge left-wing slush fund, and it has been used to line pockets and topple nations. With ZERO oversight.

It needs to be completely shut down and every single employee fired. If there are actual needs, a new entity needs to be started and every penny justified.

OP, I have no idea who you are or what your source of information is, but do you have evidence that this accusation is true? If not, it could be in your best interest to delete or at least rephrase your statement.

Something tells me that if OP were sued, organizations like ADF would be more than happy to defend and conduct the resulting depositions of all parties - including a full accounting of monies involved with USAID and who ultimately benefitted.

Who knows, perhaps Musk and Rubio themselves, who have arguably been slandered by Mr. Natsios, might want to join a countersuit. It is Mr. Natsios who fired the first shots publicly, after all...

Lol. Shutting down programs within an agency =/= shutting down the agency itself, no matter what a biased headline says.

How can Rubio take control of an agency that has been shut down? The headline vs. the content of the article are mutually exclusive.

Love how others discount people with experience "in the field" because it goes against the narrative they want to believe. If you think the actions Musk and his teenage DOGE squad are taking is all about "gov't waste" and it doesn't put America at risk, I think you are being shortsighted. This administration and their actions at the CIA, FBI, Treasury, USAID, and DOJ are illegal, unwarranted and idiotic. It is just retribution for anyone and anything going against Trump. He is doing exactly what we were warned he would do.
Since your ilk loves to say "without evidence", look at your post and then produce any evidence of your assertions about Trump or any of the administration.

For that matter, back up your statement with a full audit of the Government agencies that you reference and show us that all dollars spent are going where said agencies say they are and that there is no waste at all.

Or, you could just acknowledge that BILLIONS of dollars being spent by these agencies are unaudited and unaccounted for. Musk has made an allegation of immense grift and spending of public dollars on partisan ideological objectives. He's immediately backed up those allegations by publishing much of what he's found, and that's a far sight more transparent than what these agencies have been.

Jeez, there is so much money being passed back and forth among these agencies and different NGOs that it would trigger thousands of Suspicious Activity Reports if it happened in the private sector.

So what's your beef?
