How does Musks statement, in the tweet, have anything to do with redirecting funds to Tesla or Space X.
Musks statement says, "An X number of funds were used to fund XYZ???" Its ambiguous. Why would you make such powerful statement to the public (in your created gov position) without specs??

The ambiguity of the statement, leaves one to pontificate...... what you are doing meddling with the treasury!!

The statement was about payment approval officers being instructed to always approve payments, no matter who it's too.

In the tweet in the OP? It says exactly none of that.

Side note: It's amazing just how much guys like Musk can get done in a couple of weeks, isn't it? Joe would still be trying to open his box of Corn Flakes in that period of time.

He's totally right, but I have a hard time envision scenario where he's ever had to actually clean his own home. If I were that rich, I'd have a servant staff like Downton Abbey.
Enlighten me. Was Musk born rich?

Anyone have the accounts payable email address to submit invoices to the US Treasury and a Time Machine I can borrow? I'll return it almost instantaneously and promise to make it worth your while.

Exactly. Treasury is hiding transactions from audits. Therefore the tweets. DOGE is blowing a huge friggin whistle.

Half measured tweet. No actual substance, apparently, just enough red meat, to re-direct these so called funds to Tesla and Space X.

You got a billionaire with multiple businesses, with direct access to the US Treasury. No conflict of interest here.
By a billionaire with multiple businesses, you mean Donald Trump?

Musk's father says he was driven to school in a Rolls-Royce…. But I do not think they were overly wealthy but certainly not poor. No details on whether he had to clean his own room before supper.

Regarding Musk and misuse of government funds. If Musks wants to skim from the Treasury to make rocket ships to take us to Mars, I am better with that than Hunter and the Biden Crime Syndicate skimming for hookers, blow, and beach homes, FWIW.

This government is so bloated and out of control it would just seem obvious that it would be easy to immediately get insight into how much money they are wasting, and wouldn't require a deep analysis to spot quick areas to fix.

Back to the subject of the thread: it is unfathomable that our government's accounting controls are non-existent. Then again, have you ever heard of anyone being fired for embezzling from the government? If you never audit, there's no one to fire.

I read in the paper all the time about people getting arrested for stealing from booster clubs, small businesses, and banks when they had access to the money, but I've never once read about a federal employee going to jail for that.

Maddening.

At the same time, you got all the Inspector General's being fired who audits theft & fraud for all Departments, etc

Not an inkling of concern???

Remember, the left always accuses the opposition of what they themselves are doing.

So no, Fred isn't diverting funds from government to himself but he cannot seem to fathom someone who would not do so even if they had the opportunity.

Having OIGs that are part of and embedded with the deep state provides no value, no accountability, no independence.

For the accounting / corporate oversight brethren here, it is akin to expecting an internal audit that is part of the finance/accounting department and reports to the CFO somehow provides independent oversight of the business.

The most successful internal audit departments sit essentially outside of all departments, source folks from all over the company, for limited duration, and reports completely independently to the board. With that, you get actual oversight and insight into the risks and controls within the company.

I do not believe we have anything resembling such in our government. We need a sort of appointed independent council concept that reports only to POTUS. Or just let DOGE do they thing.

You seem to not want to acknowledge even for a second that the OIGs Trump fired were fired for being INEFFECTIVE. They were not terminated for being "the real Gov watch-dogs".

Termination resulted from failure to performed assigned responsibilities.

I wonder why those Inspector Generals were fired. Could it be that they weren't doing their jobs and were part of the problem?
