He hasn't officially said, but given that a lot of people are making moves to run for the seat in 2026, he is not expected to run for reelection.

That said, doesn't seem like he'd care one way or the other at this point. He's just going to be an irritant for 2 years.

Oh, I thought he said this was his last term… maybe wishful thinking. My real question was, is he so ingrained in the system that he really wouldn't be in danger of losing in a primary, regardless of how he voted on the confirmations. Only R to cross the line for both Tulsi and RFK jr.

McConnell is not just a Republican senator. He was the leader for quite some time, and before that he headed the republican conference, and before that he was Whip!

His job for over two decades has been to literally make sure all Republicans vote like Republicans! Quite a turn for the turtle.

If it is out there is communities I have not heard of, is there a treatment for the people that have it instead of immunizing entire populations?

Good and valid questions. We stopped using live oral polio in 2000 due to most cases being from a baby passing the live weakened polio virus to gramps. The current version is dead and injected and usually given in a combo shot with several other vaccines (pentacel for example). The reason we still give it is due to vaccine refusers primarily in Africa where the tribal leaders spread lies about the WHO workers injecting HIV into people. We have had recent outbreaks in USA in communities with low vaccination rates.

We were on the verge of eliminating polio like small pox but due to world travel, vaccine refusals increasing and the inability of WHO to get those last tribal pockets vaccinated it is actually increasing now.

There is no treatment for polio. Like nearly all vaccines they are for dangerous and either untreatable virus or rapidly dangerous bacteria (HiB, strep pneumo, neisseria).
