He was a democrat until he saw an easier path with a R by his name.

The usual TDS and Democrats 'worried' Trump looks/sounds like a liberal is unsurprising.
Uh, If this is true, he's calling for removing the debt ceiling. Thats Trump not sounding liberal ? If Trump or anyone else doesn't want to be tagged as a lib then dont do lib crap.

And, if true, this move is as lib as it gets. Debt will absolutely kill this country's eco if it hasn't already. This issue is the issue of our time. That's totally a Harris-esk move and deserves total condemnation if true.

I am hoping this is lib or media BS.
If he's calling out the debt ceiling itself as an ineffective tool to limit the growth of the deficit/debt, I don't see that as false. It's a political tool that even if it had good intentions when crafted has failed. Dems (and rino's) use the threat of a shut down over this, and the budget, to drive more spending, period.
I actually agree but instead of removing it He should give it teeth. Spending has probably already done us in . This will see to it.

When a nation hits the death wall of 140% of Debt to GDP you are screwed. Just ask the Brits. This is exactly what cratered their eco and currency in the 1970's. Now they are a third rate power.

And I'll add that we might as well remove the Debt Ceiling. That is a charade. We've never not approved going above it, eventually. So why play games and pretend like it matters?

Until we go back to an actual budget for federal spending (which I believe hasn't been done in ~20 years) then there having a Debt Ceiling is a waste of time. All it does is serve as a political tennis match between R's and D's where ultimately, they both walk away as winners and we the losers.

Why would we be agreeing to remove the limit instead of lowering the budget so we don't get close to it? Because they'd rather not argue over that, it keeps them from spending more and more money. Removing the Debt ceiling is giving cover to all involved to argue over increasingly larger and larger debt. Deal with the real problem, not with the "ineffectual limit". If we do that, the limit doesn't matter because it won't be reached.

This isn't just bad Trump, but horrendous Trump.

Hopefully Elon and Vivek can gain some power and influence to make the debt limit moot through a reduction in government spending, but I'm not going to hold my breathe there based on how Trump is going off the rails on this.

Remove the handle and you'd think this was a Dem. Most conservative president of my life…lol.

There will be no drastic spending cuts in the next 4 years. The best way to reduce the deficit is lower interest rates to save on interest payments and tax receipts from stock market gains. That's the Trump playbook. There will be no cuts

Can we stop with the newspeak and call it what it really is? It's not a "debt-ceiling" in reality, it's actually a "debt-floor." Whenever they raise it, that means they will spend AT LEAST that much. And considering we've raised it every single time it's been reached, it's obvious that this will never end until it reaches the mathematical limit.

Yeah, we knew they'd show up. It's all they have left.
Based on your past posting of Trump, he could announce he is now a commie and you'd still lick his boots.

Its never about the man !!! its about policy. Boot lickers will never figure that one out.
If Trump governs from the right, I'll back him. He starts going left he can kiss ass. It's that simple.

Nah. I don't lick boots. Not his or yours.
I can't recall the last time anyone had something negative to say about Trump without you swooping in to white knight for him with a claim of TDS. This thread is no different.

So good to hear posters that ADAMANTLY told us Trump would never win and would guarantee another 4 years of Biden now pretending they know what this is all about. Warms my heart.

Happy Holidays!
