Ah yes, the semi monthly F16 wailing about Dan Crenshaw supposedly being a RINO. Looking forward to him winning his primary again in 15 months to read the bellyaching.

There are a lot more people fed up with his schtick than y'all realize and if he keeps this **** up, he will end up on Musk's radar.

Pulling the "V card" does not mean you aren't a d-bag and doesn't make you right.
Yep. Crenshaw is John McCain, the sequel.

And unfortunately, it wouldn't surprise me to see him in the Senate when Cornyn retires.

Why don't better people get elected?
Because better people don't run, or if they do, they entire system works against them, unless, the incumbent has done something to piss off the money people.

It's understandable why good people don't run. The time it takes to run and the public scrutiny a good person would go through is a major turn off.
We had a friend who ran for a city council spot here, and it got so dirty that he said never again, and understands why only the worst actually run and get elected because no one with any sense would put themselves through that.

If you remember, in his first run for Congress, he ran in the primary against a conservative, smart, and well qualified state representative who would have been a solid choice.

Zero percent chance of that now, imho. I don't know if it will be Paxton, Fallon or someone else but conservative money will align behind someone not wearing an eye patch. He's burnt way too many bridges among the Texas GOP.

I also think Ted Cruz will play a role in who he backs in such a race (and his fundraising apparatus/connections are substantial), and would not welcome this clown to join him as the junior senator from Texas.

Exactly.

It's why I don't even consider it. I don't want any of my past doings brought to the public by a disgruntled person. Hell, or even just completely false accusations to which you must play defense against.

I was about to post this. Lost to Crenshaw then went across town and lost to Troy Nehls. Maybe she can make a comeback as the "true" conservative.

It's going to be hard to primary him. When the primaries come around, most conservatives get too scared to take a chance with another republican because they fear they will lose in the general. Happens every time, no matter how disappointing the congressman has been.

Hmmm. Not sure I am buying that.

Any Republican will win the Crenshaw District easily. The people that live there know that.

I like Musk, but we need to keep the influence at arms length. Otherwise we potentially put ourselves in a Soros-like situation which we currently rail against.

I believe this typically held true until ~15yrs ago. For instance, Cruz was never supposed to be our Senator. For all intents and purposes, the Austin/DC swamp creatures had David Dewhurst picked and crowned as the heir apparent for Kay's senate seat.

The type of campaigning and ways to campaign have grown drastically even in the last 10yrs. I believe candidates ability to reach the constituents through so many means has changed the game and makes them more resceptive to swapping members in the same party. The absolute gutting of Dade Phelan's posse is another example.

Hell, look at Trump this year with the podcasts.

**** that. The GOP finally has their own "Soros" in Musk and they should ride it as long as humanly possible because if he pulls back his influence, the dems will drive a train through the hole it may leave.

Any chance Mealer lives in his district? I was personally a big fan of hers and beleive she would've won Harris County Judge if not for the ballot games the election official pulled.

I'm in Dan's district now after they redrew the lines. My street was always in Kevin Brady's district and would be in Morgan Luttrell's now. Voted for another guy in the primary but had to vote for Dan in the general. We need a good candidate to run against him that has some stronger backing next time.

It does raise the question of what can be done about this. Not just now, but for future systems. How do you restore any kind of integrity to the vetting /primary process to where someone other than "second-raters" to use Vidal's term --- run?

Its the false accusation trend that is the most scary. Actual past things could be boring. But since the MSM allows false accusations to stand and we seem to have no laws fining lying or inaccuracy, candidates and donors can just make stuff up about another.
