Second, it's funny, or maybe sad, that parents think there is evil porn in libraries, indoctrination commie gay loving teachers around every corner, and whatever fear that has been spread while showing no concern at all with the cell phone and social media they provide them.
Social media has FAR, FAR, FAR more negative influence over these kids today than anything teachers or librarians or whoever could ever dream of. And parents don't think twice about it. Possibly the most ignorant thing I have ever witnessed in my life. But they will ***** about a teacher with a rainbow in the corner of their room.
And teachers both don't need 1 on 1 time to sew seeds and have more 1 on 1 time than you realize, especially in the elementary grades.
But as I said, nothing is going to change your mind on that. All it takes for evil to flourish is for good men to do nothing.

I have tremendous respect for the conservative students at these schools who hold their ground or go against the grain. Even if they remain silent due to being heavily outnumbered, I feel for them.

I know this is rare...but there is no denying that most libs/dems complained when governors like Desantis and Abbott had these gay p0rn books (that depicted oral sex and sodomy in playful cartoon illustrations) removed from elementary and middle school libraries. I don't even have a bunch of psycho devout leftists "friends" on social media...these are educated mid/upper class people who do very well for the most part...and i remember numerous dems on my feed comparing Desantis to Hitler for removing "Gender Queer" from these libraries.
THAT is the troubling part to me...that so many people, all concentrated on one political side, are fine with this deviancy. Along the same lines, FL basically said, you cannot proselytize to children 8 yrs of age and under behind their parents back with the trans/LGBTQ stuff, and this was universally condemned by the left...they labeled it the "don't say gay" bill.
I remember freaking out thinking the world was going to end in elementary school in the late 80's and early 90's...as they were preaching that we were ripping the ozone layer open by using hairspray and that 1 in 4 high school students would have AIDS by the year 2000. If they were hitting us with fear-driven propaganda back then, it's hard for me to believe they have seen the err of their ways and scaled that back. I plan to be heavily involved in my daughter's schooling regardless.

Not to derail, [tl;dr] but the teacher indoctrination conversation prompted me to think about the experiences of my three children, ages 20, 17, and 10, who have been educated in Hawaii and California public schools. (In California we have experience living in both blue and red counties, which are vastly different from each other).
Here are my observations:
American cultural holidays are no longer emphasized or are completely absent, especially Thanksgiving. Columbus Day is gone. My youngest did not learn about Columbus or the Pilgrims - at all. She has learned about the plight of Native Americans though.
Here's a good example of how teachers subtly influence elementary school students in indirect ways. My daughter's school choir performed at a rest home and not one traditional Christmas song was sung - to old folks 60-, 70-, and 80-years-old and older, in a conservative county, who grew up with religious tunes. The children instead sang a Native American song, some song from Papua New Guinea (wtf?), and a song "for those who struggle with the holiday times" by Melanie DeMore, black, lesbian, and self-described "vocal activist." Nothing against her. She has a great voice and is genuinely working to bring people together; however, you can see a trend in song selection. Whereas it is difficult for me not to think this crowd of elderly would have been better served, and uplifted, with Joy to the World or some other traditional Christmas song and not some generic uplifting song about "sending you light," which pales in comparison to "O holy night! the stars are brightly shining..." The teacher was more focused on her own worldview than who comprised her audience.
I had to read and memorize the works of dead white men, like Shakespeare, who taught about universal human traits and the problems we cause. My older two may have read an excerpt, about a page in length, if that. They were assigned more literary works focusing on specific ethnic groups or immigrant experiences.
Civics is not taught.
My daughter, especially, has come home repeating therapeutic language. I recognize this because I am a licensed psychologist and have been in mental health for over 25 years (read Bad Therapy by Abigail Shrier).
Climate change is embedded into the curriculum from elementary through high school.
Academics has been dumbed down. This is widely known, right? The philosophy here being to lift up the "underprivileged." The regular classes are remedial whereas the honors courses are what regular courses would have been.
My middle boy had lessons on intersectionality in high school. One assignment that I took a screenshot of was titled What is intersectionality? (newsela, 2017)*
Free food, breakfast and lunch, creates a sense of entitlement and basic needs being met by the government.
Minimal consequences for disruptive students.*
Deliberately putting disruptive students in high performing groups. This philosophy comes straight from psychology with the belief that the poor student's behavior will improve. It should come as no surprise that my high achieving son would do all the work and get the same grade as the badly behaved, indolent moron.*
*Interestingly, the three asterisked items occurred in blue counties and not the red county we currently live in. Also, students say the Pledge of Allegiance in elementary school in the red county but did not do so in the blue one.

Don't take this the wrong way, but that's why I moved back to Texas when my kids were young. We saw some of that happening where we were and wanted to protect our kids from it. None of that happens in Central Texas. Or if it does happen it is the absolute exception and not the rule.

We would have been back in Texas as well, and were for a time after leaving Hawaii, but things worked out differently than we planned. Isn't that the way of things.
But, both my older boys have done well for themselves. My oldest has been in Micronesia for over a year and is currently serving truly impoverished families on the island of Chuuk. For one blonde haired, blue eyed haole, the people have found him endearing, especially the kids, which I don't believe would have happened if not for his experience in Hawaii and California.
It is my daughter who I have more concerns with the current cultural climate's influence. I feel there is a big difference in what my boys (Gen Z) were exposed to versus my daughter (Gen Alpha).

She told me that before Covid, and in the first 20 years of her career, they managed learning environments for students. Now all they do is manage behavior. So much so that there is very little if any time left to do anything else.
The wife of an elementary school principle told me a few weeks ago that in the last two years they have had more kindergarteners show up not potty trained or able to feed themselves than they have seen in the entire decade before.
Until we start parenting again there is not a lot that the schools, especially the teachers, can do. Parents could start by keeping their kids off of social media and stop texting them during class.

He still has some behavioral issues because of the way his parents have raised him but he really doesn't behave like a kid on "the spectrum" even though his mom throws out the "A" card every time someone calls her out on his behavior, it's mainly because she had been a (horse excrement) mom.
It only took a couple of months of schedule and discipline from the school system to show some improvement, I call it good for the teachers on this front, I just hope the next set of teachers doesn't start with some of the other crap that has been discussed on this thread.
TLDR: It starts with the parents first, they need to teach their kids values and discipline and not just rely on the teachers to do so and then complain if the kids turn out to be wackos.

The parents (likely parent) cannot help with homework, and don't place much emphasis on education, because they are a second or third generation of the same environment and ignorant as can be. This likely cannot be changed and, to the extent it can, it would take decades to bring about.

I remember back when my kids would go to their mother's place for her weekends. They would come back just charlie foxtreted.
It would take us 4-5 days to get them reined back in. Then it would start all over in a week and a half.
Now, I WILL give my ex one credit. I understand that she only had them for 2 days so she didn't want to be an ******* that whole time and be punishing them for misbehaving like we did.
But...she could have done better than she did.

What is social media? That's all it is is peer pressure, just by anonymous folks, for a 100x100 pixel thumbs up icon, multiplied my billions.
It should be no surprise that our culture is so degenerate. They're being pressured to do insanely stupid things like deny biology, support mental illness, support degenerate lifestyles that dont lead to healthy, stable, productive progeny, believe that men with wigs and bolt on tits somehow transform into actual women. They're doing it all for the dopamine hit of getting a thumbs up. That goes for this very site I am posting on as well, the irony is not lost on me, as Redstone and myself are notorious blue-star-*****s.
But also think beyond that. What kind of psychological devastation could you do to a populace or culture if you could infect them with some sort of cultural rot that manipulates what you see, what you hear, what you think is popular. It's not really a conspiracy theory about what Tik-Tok nowadays. It's a psyop to infect our culture and identity as a nation and brainwash our youth. What age demo do you think those "brave" dancing nurse tik toks during covid were really targeting? They were brainwashing the young kids who were at statistically zero risk of this cold virus from being terrified of it, or maybe lesser, being "brave" themselves by supporting the lockdowns to protect this brave YAS QUEEN nurses. Who do you think put out all of those videos of Chinese people falling dead in the streets, streets being blasted by people in hazmat suits, and piles of body bags outside of hospitals...and why?

To be clear growing up in California or Hawaii has always been different than TX. This is not new.

I disagree. My family was in law enforcement in some heavily populated cities back in those years. They never worked any school shootings or spoke of any by their fellow leo's in other states and large cities.
