How have people not yet realized these coins by celebrity personalities and content creators are worthless???

What purpose was hawk coin going to serve?

Building an audience on social media is a relatively quick way to wealth. I'm realizing more and more that there's just an uncountable number of idiots out there that will follow anyone.

Best I can tell, after the success of Bitcoin someone created Dogecoin as a joke. Only it seemed to generate value.

A crypto currency

It's really nothing except a "thing" you buy and hopefully it appreciates in value. What's the value? Nothing, other than what somebody will pay for the thing, that they can't do anything with

It's about like beanie babies, except without the stuffed toy to throw in the trashcan

In a typical rug pull, the creator creates the "thing", sells a percentage of it, retains a percentage of it, watches the price go up because idiots just have to have that "thing" (or "thang", as the case may be), and then dumps the retained "things" at the higher price

Correct, so I don't know if the rules are the same, but insider trading occurs in the stock market with companies selling under the table to realize huge gains.

Not sure if this is illegal, since there may be no regulating body.

That is why I said the other explanation was better.

He didn't say they were. He said the comparison is similar. If you're releasing a coin and have a high percentage of coins already given to people associated with its development and no lock on when they can sell, you should probably tell people that, just like a large shareholder or company does at its IPO.

It looks like whoever she partnered with only released a small percentage (like 3%) of available coins to the public but had many multiples of it (like 17%) already assigned to a small number of wallets. Those with the mass of coins let the initial release pump up the price before dumping their massive share on the market and tanking the price.

So, yeah, kind of a pump and dump.

they are just one of the thousands of coins in crypto that has no real utility- people just buy them because they BELIEVE that if they buy it for pennies, someday one of them will hit like Bitcoin and they will be instant millionaires
