We need closed primaries and candidates cannot run in the primary unless party members for at least 5 years or longer.

I know the state delegates have been debating that. Some want to keep RINOS out. Some don't want to discourage people who truly have switched parties to republican from running.

I think we have to have closed primaries. What we've been doing isn't working.

These are the 26 Republican members of the #TxLege House who skipped the third vote for GOP nominee. It is assumed they are the ones cutting the deal with the Democrats to block the @TXGOPCaucus nominee.

I did that and both candidates said all the right things. I didnt find out until after the general election that Gerdes' second largest donor was Phelan. It appears clear that his vote is bought and paid for, his constituents wishes be damned.

Lots of talk but there was not enough action when Phelan was in his runoff battle after losing to his opponent in the general election. Phelan outspent his opponent hugely and bought the runoff.

Conservative Republicans need to knock these Schmucks out of politics when given the chance.
Problem is, lots of very marginal R areas like Plano, Frisco, Beaumont, etc where Rinos can get Democrats to vote for them. Especially in a runoff like Phelan had.

I see a couple of Reps in neighboring districts where I do business and often shop in. I'm going to call and email them both and let them know in no uncertain terms that I will be making big donations to their primary opponents if they don't get in line behind Cook.

It's not necessarily over. There is still time to apply a lot of political pressure.

Why is a political party allowed to force an elected politician to vote a particular way? That's... scary.

Paul Dyson has announced he will back the caucus winner. I bet there will be quite a few others who state they supported him to win the nomination but will back the Republican choice.

McLaughlin seems to be in the same boat.
