Ken Paxton knows firsthand dealing with this faction when he dared to challenge Joe Straus for Speaker in 2011. Paxton made the jump to the Senate to escape the blowback only later to have SEC charges filed by Straus lieutenant, Byron Cook, in 2015 which only recently got settled after 9 years. Then, Phelan holds secret hearings to push impeachment charges on Paxton.

It's high time to toss the whole Straus/Bonnen/Phelan/Burrows out with their obstruction and let Texas lead the nation.

Ken Paxton and Texas State GOP Chair Abraham George are making some stops to expose some of the Burrocrats in the next couple of days:

I'm glad some elected Texan is fighting for the governance Texans have been voting for and have been denied.

What Phelan/Burrows, et al have been doing is not a lot different than democrats' obstruction in Trump's first term and what they will resume to obstruct Trump in two weeks. It is no more noble or ethical.

Paxton knows better than anyone how duplicitous and corrupt the Strause/Bonnen/Phelan wing of the Party is so it makes sense that he would be the one to go out and speak the truth from his personal experience with them as a Republican Party leader.

He is also the highest ranking state official that doesn't have to deal with any of the players legislatively, so he doesn't risk any legislative initiatives by being he lead to pressure the RINOs.

What is better than doing your best to ensure that conservatives own the house and no democrats have committee seats?

For what it's worth, and for those living in the Memorial/Energy Corridor area of Houston, I emailed Mano DeAyala again to reiterate my support for Cook, and this is the response I got:

Quote:

Thank you for writing into our office. Representative DeAyala remains committed to supporting a strong conservative speaker and will fulfill his commitment to support the Republican Caucus Nominee.

What better to do than get a conservative speaker of the house vs a worthless lib that will give tons of power to democrats? I can't think of much that would be better to do in the next week.

This still has 57 for Cook (DeAyala included) and 31 for Burros:

Sadly, Phelan and Burrows and those who support them vehemently disagree with allowing republicans to control the legislative process in Texas despite decades of winning the right.

From State Rep. Mark Dorazio's commentary:

https://www.expressnews.com/opinion/commentary/article/texas-house-speaker-david-cook-20013481.php
Quote:

A shift to appointing chairs exclusively from the majority party, like 47 other states do, will ensure that conservative priorities are advanced, that there are clear and fair rules to abide by, and that all elected House members are able to truly represent their districts.

Cook has made it clear that respecting the minority party does not mean handing them power that does not reflect the overwhelming will of Texas voters.

Texans voted for Republicans because they expect bold action not gridlock or timidity. They want leaders who will protect Texas values, fight for their priorities and stand strong against minority obstruction.

Cook has the experience, integrity and commitment to unite Republicans and ensure the Texas House is run by Republicans, just like the voters intended, and I am proud to cast my vote for him.

The Burrocrats want Texas to be among the only 3 states still giving the minority party Committee Chair positions which they know will lead to obstructing conservative legislation.
