How could POTUS do what the President of Argentina do? Can Trump abolish the Dept of Education with a pen stroke?

Can someone explain what the reciprocal tariffs are? Are our tariffs now in line with other countries tariffs after Trump's initial tariffs and thus, any additional tariffs they put in place are being matched?

Listened to a really interesting interview yesterday. The person hypothesized Trump is returning the US to the gold standard but has to get all of us trade partners on board too. Using the tariff stick to bend them. He makes the point when we went off the gold standard in 71 we also the same day out tariffs on all of our trade partners.

It was an interesting comparison

Already seeing price increase from vendors for equipment and any steel related products.

The problem is, even if the tariff's get canceled, the prices certainly will not go down.
