Lemon was conflating two separate issues. He, somehow linked the experiments on the Tuskegee Syphilis Study with treatment of black Americans and who is allowed to be a doctor.

First off, the experiments should be a warning to all of us to never trust and always question the government. Second, it has nothing to do with lowering standards for becoming a doctor.

You won't believe this, at the start of our marriage, I thought it was just me (and not other men). How am I not able to get through to her? What am I doing wrong? I would even simplify the logic and make it a step by step process so it would be easier to understand. I only bothered to do this because the decisions were important, with money, education, career, health involved. Not trivial stuff which can be ignored.

Men aren't used to discussing these things about their wives with other men. Women do it all the time with their female friends, even sexual stuff. For example I know of a certain guy in my neighborhood who only likes sex 0ral, not the PIV way (his wife told a bunch of girls and my wife was in the group and she told me).

But many years later, this somehow came up with a friend and we both realized that we went through very similar things. Same irrational behavior from the wife. Then I read about it on forums and other places and it all fell into place.

I realized every man goes through this and I bet this has been happening for millions of years.

I think this is a form of "Abilene Paradox".

Yep, it's good to talk with the homies about it...while golfing, hunting, whenever. Any wife who is immune to this is a unicorn. Extremely rare to non existent. We can control how far we ratchet it up and decide which battles are worth fighting, and for how long though. Took me years to learn this...and I still stumble.

Don is where he is at because he is good at what he does. He tries, in as many ways as possible, to trip up Elon on the message that he is stating.

Elon's message is simple. If we lower standards for surgeons so that we have more black surgeons, people will die. Don attacked that every which way you could. But, Elon held his ground, very politely. He's not saying that black surgeons are not as good. He is saying, don't lower the standards. He held his ground against the mind virus, and, that is admirable.

I would disagree slightly with what you just said at the end. If you have to lower standards to get black surgeons in, then no, they are not "as good". I don't necessarily think that is true, but if you are having to lower your standards to allow you to admit any demographic, then objectively it means they are less qualified than the other demographic groups.
