I haven't donated to the University since this DEI nonsense started, and I won't until they've proven it has stopped. I am but a drop in the bucket, but I bet there are many more out there that believe the same way that I do.

I have never donated to A&M. In 26 years since I graduated. They make enough money. I need more of my money than they do. Why should I donate so they send it to Jimbo Fisher and Sumlin?

Not sure of the four classes this terrible article is referring to, but SOCI 217 Intro to Race and Ethnicity (taught by grad student Dezerae Reyes) seems like DEI garbage FRFR.

Per the syllable, topics below being taught this fall:

Hodson, "Race as a Social Construction"
Bacon and Conroy, "Black Americans are very connected to being Black"
Science Vs. Podcast 11/21/19: "Police Shootings: The Data and the Damage Done"
Pager and Western, "Identifying Discrimination at Work"
Feagin and Sykes "How Black Students Cope with Racism on White Campuses"

I bet it's all in the wording..

Texas A&M dropped minoring in multiple woke studies...

I guess it could mean you can't get a minor in the Alphabet mafia, but you can still take the classes.

Indians, Chinese and other immigrants are studying science math medicine, business, law and making big bucks. Next and future governments will have more and more Americans of Indian and Chinese origin.

Blacks in America are studying victimhood and wallowing in self-pity aided by politicians who want their votes.

They were dropping minors and certifications that were so unpopular, they were struggling to populate a class and justify their existence.

The real concern here is if there is some type of 'social discourse' requirement to earn your degree. This is reminiscent of the 'multiculturalism' requirements many schools have to graduate.

SB 17 had to go after the administrative stuff first. I expect the legislature to start looking at the curriculum soon.

Students seem to like him, connects with them.
Pretty popular on campus FWIW.

I have 2 kids at A&M, and it is a solidly conservative school. Glad I sent my kids there and will continue to donate. You cannot give up on the institutions you love, you have to fight for them.

Do you actually have proof of this happening?

I know that is how the state government works when it comes to education funding, just not sure how that works in college funding. I'm assuming people who do directed giving to specific colleges receive plenty of feedback from those colleges, including information about budgets. So if the budget is the same year after year despite their giving (something I think everyone would notice), they're going to ask questions.

Or do you think these colleges are lying about their budgets and redirecting money to trans-women gender studies, i.e. fraud?
