Well, well, well. Daddy is home, I guess. He sounds relieved.

Quote:

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday said Russia's war in Ukraine will end "faster" when Donald Trump takes over as US president.

Speaking in a radio interview with Ukrainian public broadcaster Suspilne, Zelensky admitted to a difficult situation on the battlefield, where Russia has been pressing its advantages in manpower and weaponry.
He said the war "will end faster with the policy of this team that will now lead the White House," referring to the incoming Trump administration.

"This is their approach, their promise to their society, and it is also very important to them," he added.
Zelensky stressed that, on Ukraine's part, "We must do everything to ensure that the war ends next year through diplomatic means."

Good. End the flow of US taxpayer money to Ukraine and let the war end how it must.

If EU wants to support Ukraine because they are worried about Russia then the EU can start pitching in.

why f16 doesnt know facts is beyond me

The US has committed the second-largest amount of money to help Ukraine overall including military, financial and humanitarian assistance after the European Union, which has sent a total of around $93.3 billion, according to Kiel Institute data. That figure does not include contributions from individual EU member states, which are counted separately.

But unlike some of Ukraine's smaller allies, Washington's contributions account for 0.3% of its GDP, data shows.

Denmark, Norway and the Baltic states bordering Russia Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia are committing a greater proportion of their wealth to the war at more than 1% of their GDP.

They need to spend even more. Most of those countries have far better balance sheets than we do.

That's not how it is happening at all.

Trump wants Ukraine to win. This idea that Trump was going to abandon Zelensky is just right wing internet garbage.

My guess is when Trump and Musk called Zelensky they told him something like 'we are in your side but this killing has got to stop. We will handle Putin for you but be ready to make some land concessions.' Zelensky couldn't trust Biden to have the strength to help negotiate.

Edit to add- it will be over before summer. Ukraine will have embarrassed Russia in front of the world.

The.EU has been much further ahead in their support of Ukr. We have giving them a lot of surplus,,,,old equipment. The US has done its part, but certainly are not the heavy weight in this.

Europeans are hilarious. When Americans mention "Europe" they love to snarkily reply, "Silly American, you know Europe isn't a country, right?" But when it comes to handing over cash it's always, "Well, the EU has given more than the US."

**** em'.

Individual European countries have contributed a lot, but most of the contribution has been from the EU as an institution so yeah it makes sense to refer to it the way I did.

Geez for all the warmongers here or the people that cant read between the lines. The EU can cover our tab if they want to keep the same total cash flow going to Ukraine. There was no assumption that they currently are not pitching in.

You people get your panties in a wad too easily and focus on the wrong issues.

Not when you consider how many of their leaders are putting their hands into the Ukrainian cookie jar. When that many dollars are sloshing around, graft always follow. And Ukraine has been very corrupt for decades.

They just have more money to pass around now.

Just wondering, is this also true if we count funds sent since 2014 when this all really started? Have to go look I guess but was wondering

Looks like US spending:
$64.1B since recent issues and maybe total $66.9B since 2014.
Plus another $31.7B in draw down of military stockpiles. Seems this may be separate, but possibly included in the overall number, it'a not clear on that.

Also, we are far away and have less interest geopolitically and therefore should have less interest financially.

I would guess the EU doesn't give AF about Mexico cartels and US border security. Why do we GAF about eastern euro borders involving a dispute between corrupt and more corrupt countries?

If libs want to virtue signal with Ukraine flags in their front yard or IG posts, fine. BUT don't send my hard earned tax dollars over there when we have $2T in debt.
