I did not miss any of that and was probably one of the most vocally in support of Abbott deploying floating barriers, razor wire, etc and actually wanted him to keep going further in regards to securing the border. The feds were abstaining from their responsibilities thus Texas had every right in my opinion to secure the border regardless of jurisdiction because Texas would never had joined the union if they knew the feds would act that way. My issue with Abbott's bussing illegals is he had the buses going north instead of south.

And yes you can view leftists as a kid that needs teaching, I'm all for the learn the hard way politicking and wished we did more of that just not at the expense of our border. And then once he realized it was all political bs (well before the most of rest of the country) he literally did the opposite and signed orders preventing the actual tyrants from putting mask mandates and shutdowns in place, which single-handedly saved thousands of businesses and tens of thousands of jobs across the state.

He had the data knowing it was overblown bs in April but he chose lockdowns anyway. He kept the mask mandates and the 50% rule in place for months, which killed many businesses and jobs, not saving a single one.

He only stopped because of the pushback from the people, and he didn't convene the legislature, meaning he had dictator-like power for months. My 'weird' obsession with him is only because I saw what he did and remembered. It would well be worth it for every conservative to remember it as well.

Wrong. Abbott started sending IAs to other states before DeSantis did.
A good friend of mine is Deputy Director of DPS and after Abbott started doing this Florida flew my friend to their state to educate LE how Texas was able to do this. Soon after DeSantis paid for a flight that left out of San Antonio full of IAs and flew them somewhere up east. I thought that was the flight that went to Martha's Vineyard but I may be wrong about that.

I believe it was January of 2022 or 2023, I was in Austin and was going to have lunch with my DPS friend. He was late arriving and apologized. Told me he thought he was going to get fired earlier that day and had to explain to Abbott's office why he should not be fired. And that is why my friend was late.

The problem was DeSantis flew that plane full of IAs out of San Antonio without anyone in Texas government knowing it was happening. When Abbott's office called DeSantis' office complaining about that occurring without Abbott's office knowing about it, the person from DeSantis' office said the Deputy Director from DPS (my friend) had knowledge of it and had granted Florida permission to do this. My friend had to assure Abbott's office that all he had done was give a talk to LE in Florida about the Texas process but had never even talked to DeSantis' office, much less given them permission to fly IAs out of Texas.

I don't do this to dump on DeSantis. I like him and think he would be a great President. And it was someone in his office who probably got the cart before the horse then lied to cover his/her own ass. But Texas got the ball rolling in this endeavor, not Florida. And good for us.
