Someone said that the DA that took it off the table was defeated on November 5. Not sure if that was the reason or not.

I watched part of the afternoon. Was trying to figure out why any of the defense witnesses were called, especially the neighbor. Ick Good grief.

On a bench trial, how long does it typically take for a Judge to make a decision? They have heard all the evidence & could ask questions. No need to deliberate with anyone, so do they just enter their verdict after closing arguments or take some time to "think".

I don't see how one person - especially one that knows the legal profession inside & out - could not have their mind made up.

Judge gave the recess for the prosecutors to consult with the family on whether any of them wish to deliver victim impact statements before sentencing. Their right, if they want to.

Well after the first life without parole, that's pretty much it but he will cross his Ts and dot his I's for each count for purposes of the record in case there is an appeal.

He got life without parole for malice murder, life with the possibility of parole after thirty years for kidnapping, twenty years for aggravated assault with intent to rape, twelve months for hindering an emergency call, twelve months for tampering with evidence, and five years for being a peeping Tom. He got the maximum sentence on every charge and all the sentences will be served consecutively.
