I'm as happy as I could be Trump won and we had the red wave that was predicted 2 years ago.

But it will be shortened with things like this. I don't have a problem with a prayer but not the attention seeking kind.

Oklahoma is safe but I saw that on my feed here in Texas.

I'm just saying that performative acts of religion is generally not well received. Sure the blue hair nose ring folks aren't the issue. The crossover voters that allowed us to feel vindicated and hopeful last Tuesday - would be nice not to give them a reason to go back next cycle should the democrats somehow admit to themselves they went too far left and correct themselves just a bit.

Also, i said "things like this". This guy alone.....no he's not gonna have much of an impact. Over-zealous legislatures, however, that don't recognize people voted for Trump in spite of unpopular republican social policies. Need to keep those types in check.

We need 4 years of non-stop media campaigns and social media influencers educating our population on what the hell a republic is. Don't like what Oklahoma is doing? Then make sure your state doesn't do it. That simple. Leave them alone and they'll leave you alone. Congrats, non-Oklahoman citizens.

Well that's a hell of a stretch. Although I will agree that SCOTUS's past have stretched the 14th far beyond what the drafters at the time could have imagined.

This is the whole point of conservative governing. Get duly elected people from the states to decide matters like this for themselves. If it's unpopular they'll be voted out. But get the federal government out of people's lives.

If it becomes a Constitutional rights issue and gets taken to the SCOTUS, I believe they would side with the Constitution even if it goes against a lot of conservative interests. So yeah it's a bit icky, but it should play out at the state level or in the courts.

I do agree that it would be better if we didn't have a big push to the socially conservative end of the spectrum until after we've had time to clean up the federal government first.

It's not going to happen. The only issue they have is abortion. Everything else they have to take the opposite stance of Trump, which is open borders, higher taxes, higher energy costs, endless wars etc.

They can't suddenly become anti big pharma and anti military industrial complex because that's where they get most of their funding now. Still boggles my mind that they were touting Liz Cheney like it was a good thing.
