this is a classic case of politics that both sides utilize. They get in front of reporters and say they have all kinds of proof make all kinds of accusations and then when they go to show it, there is nothing there. They have been investigating this for many years. The guy that orchestrated all this is in jail They have all the answers they need and if this was true, he would've been run out along time ago. Will either be released by the house, ethics committee, which I doubt it will very likely be leaked to the press and at the end of the day it will be inconclusive.

"My client testified to the House Ethics Committee that she witnessed Matt Gaetz having sex with a minor," Florida attorney Joel Leppard told ABC News.
...and did nothing about it at the time.

Funny how that comes up now, years later.
Elections are when people find out what politicians stand for, and politicians find out what people will fall for.

Most states have a duty to report sexual abuse of a minor. Sounds like someone confessed to committing a felony.

They are terminally butthurt about what Gaetz did to to Kevin McCarthy. The beltway gravy train is very scared of long term disruption and being exposed by Gaetz firing and prosecuting their made-men in the DoJ.

Imagine the way the left has treated conservatives via the IRS, DOJ, FBI, ATF, EPA, etc.

They're just fighting to keep it from happening back to them. Burn it all down.

If the Biden/Garland DOJ tried and could not substantiate the claims..... then I am confident that the accusers claims were total BS.

The notion that women/girls don't lie about this stuff is laughable.

I was accused of sexual harassment by a girl in the 90's at Arlington Bowie High School. This was not long after sexual harassment became a buzzword after Clarence Thomas confirmation. I was called into a meeting with the alleged "victim", her mother, two vice principals, a school counselor, and the APD resource police officer. The officer threatened to arrest me! It was an ambush where I was not presented a chance to even refute the claims.

The school newspaper then did an interview with the girl about her experience of being sexually harassed by an 'anonymous' student.

After many months - she recanted her story when my mother called a lawyer who was also a Texas State Rep (Chris Harris). The school district dropped their investigation and sent an apology letter...... I wish my parents had sued them into oblivion.

Defend this claim because every time I've encountered it, the answer ends up being "because the TV said so"

And they have no reason to be.

McCarthy made an agreement with the Freedom Caucus in exchange for their support to elect him leader. He then promptly broke that agreement.

By the logic that saw the legal warfare against Trump persuade me that he'd be better than Deasantis; the smear against Gaetz is making me excited.

A vote for Trump was a vote for the continuation of the crumbling republic. It's not going to stop it because the union won't last as a republic another 20 years. But hopefully by that time the red and blue states will have consolidated their respective populations. The leeches and leftists can go their way and we can go ours…amicably.

As for Gaetz, I don't mind his politics, but there's too much smoke around this guy.

Maybe, but I've seen that a bunch..

"Gaetz is a slimeball, but.."

It's a debate tactic to give some way to the opponent because you think you have a strong point on the other side. The problem is, other than his appearance of being kind of fratty, and the unproven allegations against him, I haven't seen anyone point to a single fact that makes him slimey. What I have seen is, is the swamp on both sides unleashing everything they have against him and failing. Until I see some facts, Gaetz is good in my book, especially since he's one of the few who actually attacks the swamp and attempts to hold his own squishy R's accountable.

When does the DOJ not indict if they have evidence?

You're trying to use logic with a liberal...it won't work. Heck, he probably thought a vote for Harris was a vote for change although she specifically and stupidly stated she would not change a single thing that Biden did.

Not really.

DOJ investigated and clearly didn't have enough evidence to take it to trial. Therefore their choice/decision, or whatever word you find less "weird", was to not issue an indictment.

Therefore, is has never gone to court and no one knows what the DOJ actually found.

Good chance it will come out in the Senate hearings.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill
