80s
Punjab is a state of India dominated by people of the Sikh religion. Due to conflicts with the Indian Government in the early 80s (which resulted in the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi), many Sikhs began to demand a separate country called "Khalistan" out of Indian Punjab. Of course, there is a Punjab in Pakistan also which is dominated by Punjabi Muslims. Pakistan was funding and arming these Khalistanis to get back at India.

There is no Khalistani movement in India, it's been largely destroyed and decimated. Every now and then it wakes up when someone wants attention and the Government puts it down.

Many Sikhs moved to Canada in the 80s and continue their ill-will towards India even though the local Sikhs in India have moved on. Justin Trudeau, the Prime Minister of Canada encouraged these Khalistanis to riot and attack Indian consulates because he wanted to stay relevant and divert attention from his failing Government.

Now the Khalistani Sikhs in Canada have become emboldened to say they are the "real" Canadians and want white people to go back to Europe and UK.

Watch the video. They are taking over streets just like the Islamic jihadis and causing inconvenience to others. Justin will never put them down as he is a coward. This is why we need strong immigration control, we don't want such people in the US.

It therefore doesn't shock me that the Indian intelligence has been killing some of those militants/terrorists on Canadian soil.

Seems like many Canadians are growing tired of Trudeau's nonsense. I believe they have their elections next November and he has hinted at not even running. Would be amazing to see the opposition take control and turn Canada around.

My sister has lived in Ottawa for over 25 years now and I attended my niece's High School graduation a few years back and when they announced some kids's names the back rows full of women covered head to toe in burkas would do that zaghrouta yodel think they do. You can tell the other parents were irritated by it but they are all so busy stroking each other off over how tolerant they are nobody would even look over at them.

Sikhs make up a large percentage of the Indian Armed forces, and are a peaceful people, and strong.
Canada got a lot of sikhs in the late 80s , early 90s during the separatist movement in Punjab. So may of them have a proclivity to the separists.
The Sikhs in the US, might not always like the Indian Government, but are far better assimilated.

The Canada v India diplomatic strain has been widely underreported by the media. The two countries are barely even on speaking terms right now. They've kicked out each other's ambassadors.

In 2023 India allegedly carried out an assassination of a Canada-based man they consider to be a terrorist leader. Canada has accused India of operating secret intelligence and murder campaigns inside of Canada targeting these Khalistan groups.

Yes, most of the Sikhs are nice. But we are talking about the Khalistanis among them. Those are the not-nice types. Ask your friends if they are Khalistanis or just regular Sikhs. If you get a punch on your face, they are Khalistanis. If you get 2 punches on your face, it will be because they are regular Sikhs and are offended at your insinuation.

FYI: Burkhas are worn by Muslim women. Not Sikh. Some Sikh women have a head covering which is just over the head but not covering the face. Sikhism has Islamic influences.

Yes, the Sikhs who went to Vancouver and other places in Canada carried their 80s mentality. And infected their kids and grandkids.
