Pennsylvania Secretary of the Commonwealth Al Schmidt on Wednesday announced the state is conducting a recount of the Senate race between incumbent Democratic Sen. Bob Casey and challenger David McCormick because the results were within 0.5%.

McCormick, who was declared the winner by the Associated Press, is currently leading Casey by 29,000 votes as of Wednesday. According to the Pennsylvania Department of State, Casey received 3,350,972 (48.5%) votes and McCormick got 3,380,310 (48.93%), CBS News reported.

Casey has declined to concede the race so far, but said on Tuesday that election workers are still working to count the seven million ballots that have been cast in the 2024 election.

We've all seen this before. Dino Rossi in Washington and Norm Coleman will Minnesota will tell you how this kind of thing usually turns out for the Republican.

Edit: Misread 7 million as 7 million outstanding, not total.

This stinks to high heaven. Lara Trump better get an army of observers and attorneys in there to watch 24/7 or this is not going to end well.

Been down this road before.

We don't know where all those ballots that were unacceptable went, they must have gotten mixed in. Oops.

A recount with 7 million "ballots" still outstanding. We've all seen this before. Dino Rossi in Washington and Norm Coleman will Minnesota will tell you how this kind of thing usually turns out for the Republican.

I don't read that as 7 million ballots still outstanding. I read that as 7 million total votes that had been cast.

It's not outstanding. If it were, 99% of the vote wouldn't be currently in as it is.

It would also mean that Pennsylvania has more voters than California or Texas which is asinine.

You're correct, I misread it.

It is, but watch the total vote after the recount compared to the total vote of the election. Let's see where they pull 30,000votes from

Oh look.

Pennsylvania is counting votes a week after the election is over and a Democrat is magically coming from behind to eek out a win.

Who would have thought?

Point is this:

They need precincts to be well over their registered voter count to do this, except for Philly. Philly is a Dem operative county. Theyw have always oasid people to vote. Ed Rendell made that clear in 2008 he needed cash to get his votes out. He paid them and admitted that. Nobody batted an eye when he said he cheated.

We need to issue every ballot a unique identifying QR code and record every time a ballot is printed, transported to a precinct, sent or handed to a voter, received back or counted. These ballots could then never be duplicated, printed after an election, run through a counting machine twice, etc.

If these ballots' time stamps are recorded to a block chain in 100 ballot blocks, it should be impossible to ever trace the ballot choices back to the voter.

No more technology in the voting booth. No QR codes or anything else computer related.

Hand written paper ballots only.
In person, proof of citizenship only.
One day only.

I disagree. Tracking the chain of custody of each ballot prevents leftists from inserting thousands of freshly printed ballots into the system hours or days after the election.

It's a lost cause trying to convince certain posters here to stop with their defeatist mentality.

It's always "well that's a loss now", or comments like "there's nothing we can do about it", or my favorite regarding a D doing something nefarious, "nothing will happen".

It's as if they want to lose so they have something to complain about.

It kind of reminds me of Al Franken in Minnesota years ago. The Republican was ahead but they kept the recount going until Franken had a 225 vote lead and then certified the results.

Admittedly, it was a much narrower lead, but I don't trust Elias. He wasn't paid to come to Pennsylvania to narrow the loss.
