Or at least denies some raises.

CNN is reportedly set to nix some of its top talent in a round of post-election layoffs. The rumblings, first reported by Puck News, come as high-paid personalities like Jake Tapper and Wolf Blitzer were reportedly recently denied raises. The two already boast salaries of $7 million and $3 million, while stars like Anderson Cooper take home an annual $20 million. Kaitlan Collins and Erin Burnett also command inflated earnings - $3 million and $6 million apiece, respectively.

Trump will fix it.

Anderson Cooper at $20M while the rest are at $3M-$7M? Not a gender gap but a sexual orientation gap!

Wallace confirmed it himself yesterday.

He is going the podcast/social media route. He conceded that Rogan and others have proven that is where relevant media is now. But he also stated he knows he will never have Rogan's reach.

If CNN would go back to simply reporting the news instead of trying to influence, they might save themselves

Otherwise, CNN is an enemy of this country and should be treated as such.

His original contract was for three years to appear on the since cancelled CNN+. His contract was up and was not renewed.

Now Wallace claims he'll try podcasting. Like he still has an audience, LOL.

Blitzer was the queen of the MH airlines 370 story. I think he deserved a Pulitzer for that one. (He at least deserved an award from the DNC for using that to deflect attention away from what was then the lowest point in Obama's presidency).

CNN screwed themselves when they did a big pivot around 2010 to 2011 in starting to report things from a very partisan perspective and promoted more opinion shows rather than straight news coverage. It's also when they started producing a lot more longer form documentaries about Blackness and other crap.

By 2010 their news coverage had already started to lean slightly left but in general it wasn't the hard on partisanship that we started to see especially leading up to the 2012 election.

After that they just embraced the partisan audience they were developing while not realizing they turned off a lot of people who were tired of the BS.

Larry King Live and some of their other news shows were exactly the long form, the discussion based interviews that a lot of people love. They went away from it to try to appease people's 30 second soundbite brains.

I honestly don't know how Propaganda Media makes money.

There are so many options where one can get radical leftwing fiction. Half the country has only FoxNews, which is not really conservative, so I get how they do it. I'm willing to pay for those eyeballs as an advertiser.

But the other half is split among dozens of outlets! There simply aren't enough eyeballs to justify advertising there. Crazy!

I think some of these networks mistakenly thought that with the success of Fox News and its right leaning audience and them getting big numbers with the likes of O'Reilly, Hannity & Comes, and Greta Van Susteren that they could do the same on the hard left and thought it would work. At one time MSNBC had Keith Olbermann as its lead guy with Maddow filling in for him and as a regular contributor until they gave her own show.

Problem is, between the nightly network news and also CNN and MSNBC they split the leftist market and cannibalized each other. Also as time has gone on, there was only so much "breaking news Trump outrage" they could capitalize on. Russiagate fell apart. His tax returns yielded nothing, etc.

I accidentally listened to Mark Halperin's YouTube channel leading up to the election and didn't even realize it was him until I was halfway through it. He was a political director for ABC News and had shows on MSNBC. Hardcore democrat.

It was actually very fair, enlightening, and good discussion. He's had on Sean Spicer a lot. You never know how some people will be when they are unrestrained by their corporate bosses.

Maybe Wallace will have some success just being the journalist he thought he would be allowed to be when he signed on to cnn. I think his goal was always to do long-form interviews and it never worked out with the company.

2010?? Seriously dude?? More like the '90s.

I don't know if you're too young to remember/know or you just have a different view of slant. Sure, they weren't MSDNC, but CNN was full blown propaganda wing of the dem party back as far as at least Clinton. If you don't believe me, watch this 2000 election night coverage and see all the states they called for Gore and the other ones that went for Bush they labeled "too close to call." They knew damn well they were going for Bush as they got their data to call them from the same places -- exit polls.

I WILL concede that CNN made themselves LOOK a little more neutral with shows like Crossfire when they had Pat Buchanan and Mike Kinsley going at it. But later, that show took a dive and then got cancelled. I don't think it was going as late as 2010, but I don't recall for sure. I wasn't watching then.

All msm was in shock when Bush won, especially the second time.

That is why I find it odd that Bush didn't support Trump then I thought to myself, what were in those cards that were handled out during Bush Seniors funeral. Did that card cause a unforgivable moment for George?

My wife said the other day she would really enjoy "smacking that passive-aggressive sanctimonious smirk" off Kaitlyn Collins face.

I don't know why Collins gets paid that much. She's kind of an idiot and was hired after being some fashion consultant or some crap, but really good at yelling "orange man bad". But just like a lot of "journalists" today. She doesn't have to be good at or job or even intelligent as long as they can push the right talking points.

He is. CNN told him he had to take a big pay cut because his ratings suck and he decided to leave instead and start his own Podcast.

CNN has had horrible ratings as far back as I can remember. Trump gave them a very mild bump in viewers, but unlike the msnbc (really far left) viewers, CNN viewers aren't going to hate-watch news, they have better things to do.

This is long overdue.
There are in fact two things, science and opinion; the former begets knowledge, the later ignorance. Hippocrates
