I think Leftist leadership drives this because they know that as long as they aren't blamed directly for it, miserable people are more likely to vote for them. It's that simple. Lonely, single women vote for them in huge numbers, so how do they create more lonely, single women? Tear down the family, marginalize and delegitimize men in relationships and allow full abortion rights.

On a societal scale its just not true, otherwise, depression rates in women, single women, and working women, wouldn't be significantly higher than that period.

I didn't say they're a majority, just that they haven't failed at life.

I would want a closer look at the demographics of the women self reporting. Typically, it's extremely common for single women in college to report depression if they're being polled in school, and I'd want to know if they get factored in those polls, which could skew results.

I have all kinds of thoughts about how this woman is right in her assessment........ but I also think that her honesty is so greatly needed and appreciated. It just makes me want to pray for her. It's not too late to get married. It might not be everything she wanted at her age, but there are Godly, good, single older men out there that would be perfectly happy with her. Our churches should help facilitate matchmaking for single women who want husbands.

For those of us with daughters here -- what is preferable -- be honest:

1) Daughter with great career and 0-1 children to carry on your legacy

2) Daughter with an avg career and 2-4 kids, but that is more focused on raising children than work. But good chance of your legacy being carried on.

3) Daughter whose career revolves around the care of her 4 OR MORE children and the home that her successful husband provides the resources for? An absolute certainty your legacy and progeny lasts generations.

You guys know my preference is 3.

I don't know man...I've known A LOT of driven, highly successful boss women in my industry, but I can't think of a single one that comes across nearly as happy and fulfilled as the family woman that is doing the low paying admin or acctg gig at the same company just to help supplement the family income or the avg stay at home mom I know.

I would be very careful about making your career your pursuit of happiness and fulfillment...and I know women who were very clearly tricked into going "all in" in their careers. Eventually that sh** is gonna fade.

Okay, on that, I couldn't agree more. My thing is, women can't be forced to live a life that, although was the norm forever, like to said, then the rest of us (society) need to accept it and evolve around it.

Don't get me wrong, modern Feminists about the ever living f*k out of me, but that doesn't mean some are genuinely happy, and those that aren't, that's no one's fault but their own.

What I've learned, and come to agree fully with, with this board is the this country gives everyone an equal opportunity to fulfill their dreams, even if it takes more than one try. That's why I believe that if women, and men (there's more and more every day) that choose to be single, yet say they're depressed, that needs to be looked into. If it's chemical, even being happily married with children wouldn't keep them from being depressed, but if it's do to situations and choices, sorry, but that's on them.

I've known them too, and I agree, they don't come across in the ways that you and I have come to see, and expect, with family women, but that's the impression they give.

I thought my old boss, and her boss, were like you said, then I caught up with them together at the mall hanging out and they seemed like entirely different people. They reminded me of another boss of mine who was in the military. From 8-5 he presented himself stern and hard to the staff. When he shared some of his Facebook pics, he looked like an entirely different person. I didn't know he even knew how to smile.

It's funny that young progressives like her will ***** up and down about how boomers had it so easy in the 50's-70's because everything was affordable comparative to wages and pine for it, but they'll flat out reject all of the societal norms and policies that made it that way while also pushing for evermore of the socialist and progressive policies that got us to the exact things they're *****ing about.

We are supposed to have family and a community of people around to support us that share similar beliefs. Sebastian Junger's Tribe goes into how humans have interacted for thousands of years and how in the past 100 we started getting away from what is natural.

My wife, kids, and I have never been happier with our life where my wife does not work, we attend church where we are in a few church groups, and have friends with similar beliefs. We have had several of our friends see how are lives are and the wife has stopped working or started working a job with less hours. Luckily most are in a position to do this and their kids have said how much they prefer their mom not working.

I prefer to be in control of what is being taught to my kids, we live in a conservative district and they do a great job but still trust my wife more than someone else to raise my kids. She takes great pleasure in raising good children as well
