even if she wins the R's should control the senate. I think she'd go crazy with executive orders like biden did , only worse.

Even if they somehow abolish the electoral college; the party will adapt to the will of the people.

The swamp will allow a Republican winner again to make the illusion that we actually have a choice.
I doubt it. Just look at California as an example.

Everyone said the exact same thing on this forum the summer of 2016.

Not it Trump wins and the economy nose-dives on his watch thanks to decades of leftists policies.
This is my biggest fear.

After the Spanish flu there was a recessionary period around in 1920/1921 before the Depression hit. We're already seen post-covid recession despite what the Biden Admin says. Right now the economy is a hot potato to saddle around the party in power.

That's something a few people have quietly speculated on for a while... Trump is not exactly a small party/chop spending person, and many of his policies are gambles( worth taking for most).

If the poster child for maga and the Republicans comes crashing in very bullish on things, and they fall apart, he's going to get blamed for it right or wrong.

It may even be why kamala was allowed to flounder publicly like this. Im afraid the depression and de-dollarization that is coming one way or another is going to effectively end the two party system for a very long time.

But we'll have a R in the United States of Texas!
You misspelled "Republic of Texas"
I think if Texas were to ever split (which I don't see happening in my lifetime) you would end up with multiple 'states' along with Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana tagging along at the minimum.

Just make the SEC states a new country.

They already tried that once

It's very possible. Hard to predict the future but there could still be a turnaround if things keep getting worse. Praying for a Trump win now though.

Trump is winning this election. The polling is too far away for them to cheat plausibly. They're saying this one is too close to call without even a hint of understanding that Trump has outperformed by several points both nationally and in the swing states and he's done so not once but twice. The only way you believe this is a close election is if you believe the polls are suddenly right on the money and I don't but I do believe they're showing us a significant Trump win assuming history repeats itself.

Poling aside I'm not convinced the democrats want her to win. I'm not convinced SHE wants to win. Skipping the Al Smith dinner. Passing on Rogan. Clinton's comments about not vetting immigrants properly. Obama's lame attempts to chastise black men for not supporting her simply because she's black. This doesn't look like a party or campaign that's playing to win. They look like they're playing out the string so they can run someone better for 2028.

We'll see what happens a week from now.
A fearful society is a compliant society. That's why Democrats and criminals prefer their victims to be unarmed. Gun Control is not about guns, it's about control.

I'd be okay with bringing along West Virginia, as well. I'm sure we could find plenty of uses for that coal. Charging the northeast a most obscene price for us to "export" it, for example.

We take control over the Gulf of Mexico, oil in Texas, coal in West Virginia, and tons of agriculture and travel destinations.

If she wins, it will be because there is so much voter fraud that it makes what happened in 2020 look like the most secure election in the history of elections. With that kind of blatant cheating, we are nothing close to a representative republic and the only solution is for Texas to get out. Other states can petition to come along; I couldn't care less.

Do you think it will be bad enough this time that they will be able to find a single person that will trade their silence for the opportunity to become rich and famous by blowing the whistle on the whole darn thing?

Human nature dictates that it is incredibly improbable to get any size group of people to stay quiet when it isn't in their personal interests. In addition throughout history their have consistently be brave souls who choose to go against their personal interests to do what they believe is right. Not one of them turned up in 4 years either?

Right now there are 70M people looking diligently for fraud in our elections to no avail. If the Dems are truly smart enough to affect the voting for a specific race in meaningful way at the precinct, county and state level without detection from any Republicans, including those working in state and local governments throughout the country, then that level of ingenuity and competence should be running our country.

Either side eventually over plays their hand and then it swings the other way. It's just the nature of things. Dems are probably out there somewhere saying the same thing about republicans.

Try but the SEC is far more powerful now than in the past. Not even close. The SEC and Southern ACC would have the worlds third largest GDP by a mile. About even with Germany and Japan combined. And lots of hardware, of many different kinds, already laying around.

If Kamala wins….

I could see Atlas Shrugged playing out with Kamala's puppet masters finding a way to shutdown or control X and podcasts. At which point Musk goes full John Galt.

(I don't really see this happening but is it really that far fetched?)

I honestly think Kamala winning would help the Republican party and Conservatism more over the long run than Trump winning. Most citizens haven't suffered or lost enough to truly change their ways and realize the poison dems are peddling.

Sometimes things have to get much worse before they can get better.
Traditional "conservatism" offers little hope when locked up behind barbed wire while wearing grey pajamas Kamala will issue each of us.

I'm old. I've watched the entire "conservative" movement fail generally my entire life. One reason: Being a conservative requires accountability and work. No one wants to work or be "judged". Another reason: Liberalism (before progressivism) was easy and demanded no judgement of individuals and handed out goodies like "free" health care and Lone Star cards just for Being There.

Yep.

The Biden admin lit the WW3 matches. The Biden admin continued massive gov spending during an inflationary period. The Biden admin opened the border and invited about 20 million migrants to waltz on in here from over 180 different countries completely unfettered. Biden admin went after political opponents aggressively for four years and Biden called half of his own citizenry "extremists", "our greatest threat", and "garbage" after he had announced he lost patience with them.

When WW3 kicks off, when the over-valued/overinflated stock market tanks, when more social unrest and riots start happening, they will of course blame Trump and republicans.
