Getting hit with a 10mm will be felt for sure, especially if it is a full power 10mm cartridge, and not one dumbed down to 40S&W levels.

I personally carry a .45ACP, although I do have some 9mm handguns as well, and I do carry one now and then, but only when I need a smaller handgun as carrying the .45 would be too obvious due to what I have to wear.

I need to get a 10mm at some point just because.

Also, I doubt that all five of his shots actually hit the suspect. This shows just how difficult it is to hit your target when you're under pressure and the adrenaline is flowing. If it's tough to hit center mass, what are the odds of hitting the legs? The cop may be dead if he aimed for the legs.

It has been shown they didn't say anything, and the only apparent comments about BLM and the shooting were random people on Twitter accusing BLM of saying something no one can find.

It's not that they are carrying 9mm that's the problem; it's the trash subsonic rounds that they have to use. My step-father is a retired Dallas PD officer of 35 years, and he was fortunate at one point to be offered a trade-in on his 9mm Glock for a 357 sig. However, both weapons were provided by the department. He wasn't allowed to provide his own weapon or ammunition.

I'm sure this all differs by department.

Sadly, no one makes a gun in .357 Sig much anymore other than Glock. The round is pretty much extinct despite having a good amount of stopping power.

This is a half truth. A lethal dose of any drug is dependent on a lot of factors specific to an individual. Yes, Floyd had 3 times the lethal dose for someone his size, but that is someone his size who has never been exposed to fentanyl before. Floyd had a tolerance that a typical person did not. Floyd had 3 times the lethal amount in his system for an average person, but not for Floyd.


And if you want to insist on the notion that Floyd OD'd and Chauvin had nothing to do with it, then you have to reconcile some contradictory facts: If Floyd is so pumped full of fentanyl and OD'ing, how is he still functional during his interactions with the store clerk and the cops? You'd think he'd be keeled over and dying, not struggling with the cops. Fentanyl suppresses the central nervous system and should have him strung out, not stimulate it like PCP and have him jacked up.


What Chauvin was ultimately guilty of was being clued the **** out. Floyd was inarguably in Chauvin's custody, and his well-being was Chauvin's responsibility. Chauvin was completely clued out to the fact that Floyd had stopped breathing beneath him for several minutes, even though one of the other officers mentioned that he wasn't breathing. Had Chauvin gotten off of Floyd and attempted even an iota of first aid or assistance, he wouldn't be in prison. Whether Floyd OD'd, asphyxiated under Chauvin, or a combination of both, no one should expect the benefit of the doubt and sympathy from a jury when a guy is handcuffed and dies while you're kneeling on top of them for that long and you don't change anything.
