Hastert had been out of office for years when his allegations were made public. The scandal put an end to his lobbying career and any sort of public life.

Out of office for years when the PUBLIC caught wind of it. But it wasn't a surprise to party power brokers. His past misdeeds were known and accounted for, provided he was able to keep the lid on it and the party could maintain plausible deniability.

The dems will discredit and suppress this, even if they verify it as true behind the scenes. There's too much at stake for them to do the right thing. Then, they'll lie about their knowledge/involvement down the road if irrefutable evidence is ever brought to light in view of the public.

I can definitely believe that lines got blurred with some students and he stepped back because he knew he was running for office. Was he having sex with a student and investigated by the school board? Ehhhhh that's a stretch without more proof.

We had a basketball coach English teacher who was single and liked to party with the kids - one of them worked at Olive Garden so he would go drink at the bar while they served him and was generally what you would expect of a young English teacher/basketball coach. If you came at the right time, you could get served and drink with him too. He's now an assistant superintendent who I bet looks back at that time and just cringes. Nothing sexually ever happened or was rumored to happen among the class but if someone dropped a bomb now, he couldn't deny the majority happened.

He's the weirdest candidate we've had in a very long time. So much projection and irony in that.

"All over Twitter" does not make a story true. It's just people repeating a story.

This is not to say the story is not true. But there are tons of fake stories "all over twitter" as well as real stories.

More likely the twitter account is a DNC run account putting out gruesome stories that have a reverse affect and generate sympathy for Walz due to "MAGA" boogeymen.

Has he said he was ever a head coach? Being an assistant coach and then saying you're a football coach isn't a lie. He was also a Defensive Coordinator at one point.
