I'm in Nueces County and got woken by the alert. That's the second time in the last couple of months I've gotten an alert in the wee hours.

Mine are all turned off. Apparently my wife's are not.

Glad she got one in Harris county. I mean we're only 500 miles away from Hall county. Need to be on the look out.

I've been up since that stupid thing woke me up (Williamson county). I thought I had all of those alerts turned off. I just turned some more settings off so hopefully I'll never hear that again.

Sure would be nice if the police cared as much about non-police officers being shot/killed than they do their own...

I'm in Montgomery county and got it way down here. Thought I had all these turned off but there goes another one to the bin.

Only way I should get something like this at 5 in the morning is if it happened right around the corner and they're warning me to lock my doors.

I allowed for "extreme" and severe alerts to stay on the event of a tornado or flash flood I want to be notified. This was NOT either of those things wtf.

The fact that it is going off at 3AM in counties hundred of miles away says to me it is a giant exercise in virtue signaling. If you turn off blue alerts on your phone, you must be anti-police.

It was on my phone this morning, but I have the do not disturb turned on at night and set so only the top level alerts (tornado warning, incoming ICBMs, etc.) will actually make noise.

Same here. How is this "extreme"?

I feel for the LEO, but this was a useless alert that nobody would be able to help with. It should be on the same level as amber alerts, not Extreme.

LOL turning off the emergency alerts crap is the FIRST thing I do when getting a new phone or resetting a current one. I was already awake when this one went off on my wife's work phone. I feel bad for letting the family down that I didn't disable it sooner.

Not saying that the complaints aren't justified, but you can easily be 400-500 miles away in 6 hours. I've personally driven from north Dallas suburbs to Lubbock in under 5. The roads out of Hall County are straight and lightly traveled
