Something like 70% of the extremely wealthy are Democrats.

Make it make sense. It doesn't.

They're talking about:
Mark Cuban
Buffett
Zucker
Bill Gates
Bezos...

You know... the wealthy ones that got rich off of Government money and policy.

That is not who is getting taxed into oblivion. It is small business owners and the professional class.

If you want to target that class of voters like Cuban it can't be done through income taxes.

That's the Rich/Super wealthy that support her. It is the group most people think the Democrats are referring to having to "pay their fair share." It is also the people who say "the rich should pay their fair share."

HOWEVER, it is not the people any of those Dems are really going to tax. You are right... that doesn't require Income Tax increases. It requires confiscation. Which is what Pocahontas wants with her 3% wealth tax... which will never happen.

Then most people are simply idiots. It is people like me paying the income taxes. And it is my group that should get relief first.

It doesn't.

Kamala is preying on the greed and envy of her supporters, and trying to cushion it as some sort of a compassionate battle.

Its still greed and envy. And democrats have a lot of it.

The most telling part about this, is that Kamala is assuming her supporters are economic morons.
And the fact is, they are if they vote for her.

There are 756 billionaires in the US. ( Link)
Their collective fortunes total $ 5.2 Trillion ( Link)
The US Government spent $6.2 Trillion for FY 23 (Link)

Even if you CONFISCATED the income of every billionaire in the US, you wouldn't be able to pay for an entire year of Government spending. And what happens in the year after you've confiscated the income?

Where do you think government is going to get this money from?

This exposes her for what she is. Because there is NOOOO WAY logically you can connect higher taxes on the rich with better lives for the middle class.

The far left amd socialists do not want the opportunity for a better life.

They want to take from and punish successful people put of jealousy and spite.

Kamala is not and never has been for regular Americans who just want renewed opportunity.

She is all about the poisonous and vindictive leftist approach that she will punish those who "have too much" to make the jealous failures of the world feel better.

Now some of the deluded leftists believe that by punishing the successful they will have a better life, but in general these people don't even care about making a better life for themselves just so long as the people they are jealous of suffer.

And this ladies and gentlemen is how the purges begin.

The top 20% includes many possibly who post on TexAgs.

The incentive is for no one to contribute to society and hence all fall to the bottom, except those in power.

Hence socialism fails for all but the very top and everyone suffers in order to make the powerful more powerful.

Stupid ideas supported by stupid, lazy people.

It shows just how ridiculously stupid she and her supporters are. You could confiscate 100% of all US billionaires' assets and it wouldn't make a dent in the middle class. Just so ****ing stupid.

Don't fall for the idea, even as stupid as it is (and I'll grant you that you have to think in stupid terms when dealing with these people), that the confiscation will go to middle/lower class. The confiscation will go to the politicians/democrat "elite."

In my recent discussions with educated liberals, the number they like ti throw around is more than $400k in earnings.

That is somewhere around the top 3% of US households.
Cibalo
How long do you want to ignore this user?
When you get up over the $400k earnings level you start having to make quarterly tax payments to the IRS. Failure to do so results in a fine based on how much you owe.

So the "rich" aren't even allowed to hold on to their money for the year before filing their taxes. That is lost savings, interest, investments, and other things that help stimulate the economy.

Taxing the rich more will reduce inflation more. Also, Kamala's policy is not just to increase taxes on the rich, but also to close tax loopholes that allow the rich to pay far less than they owe.

I am also very curious about why the middle class is being blamed for their own financial struggles, when on every other thread on this forum, people blame Bidenomics for it.

Which is it?

Did the middle class just become more stupid and fiscally irresponsible over the past decade?

Or is there a wider systemic issue that prevents financial prosperity?

I'll give you a hint. If one person struggles, that's an individual problem. If everyone struggles, that's a societal problem.

So why blame the middle class for a situation they cannot control?

The rich already pay a much higher percentage in taxes.

It is a middle class person's choice to go in debt. That's their problem not mine. How does making "rich" pay more than they already do going to help the middle class with their own debt?

Do you have proof that raising taxes on the rich is going to cause inflation to go down?

And how can they not solve the problem? People work themselves out of problems all the time? Is it just easier to play the victim and blame others than look at your choices?

What percentage should the rich pay in income tax versus the bottom 50%
TxAgPreacher

The "rich" can be a problem but it has little to do with paying their fair share.

They are happy to have taxes high on the middle class because they can afford high taxes. And know small business cant compete.

It's the corrupt programs that save them money on importing illegals and legal immigrants who are willing to work for lower wages. They save money by other means that make them corrupt.

They also make inflation high so the poor who cannot afford to invest loose and they are fine.

The tax rate on the rich means very little.

The tax rate on the middle class, and other bad policies that hurt the middle/lower class is much more of problem.

You don't even get close on confiscating income. Even if you confiscated all 756 billionaires entire net worth, you still are a trillion short of covering 1 year of Federal spending.

It would take roughly 25% of ALL US citizens net worth to pay the total Federal Debt - ie $34 trillion.

Median income: $73,035

Tired of the massive amount of taxes we pay here in the United States.
- federal income tax
- capital gains tax (yeah pay more tax on monies that was already taxed)
- property taxes - this sucks all around - especially in dfw.
- sales taxes
- franchise tax
- FICA taxes
- various registrations and fees
- early withdraw IRA taxes
- hotel / car rental fees and taxes
- toll road 'taxes' - yes not mandatory but whatever it's getting hard to circumvent these as more of this **** gets thrown up. Here in dfw they have variable rates based on traffic patterns!
- state income taxes (for those who pay those)

I'm sure I missed something. A far cry from the days of throwing tea into the sea for a point or so.
