If Cruz loses (and he likely will not but...), blame these awful ads

My goodness. OP questions Cruz's campaign message because he's frustrated that maybe it won't help him win. There is some good discussion both ways on this thread, but of course in the end Texags just calls him a libtard.

I don't know how anyone could be a "swing voter" in today's world, but they really are out there. I think it's valid to question a conservative's message to win those votes. Allred lies like crazy, but for an uneducated voter that only knows Cruz's personality and timing of vacation... his ads might be appealing.

It is beyond clear to see what is going on.
There is a vertical alignment within the DNC candidates from the top down. They are campaigning as centrists, and are being wildly funded to run ads all the time. They'll get elected, and then return to their leftist ways. They are placating to the usual non-voter.

No morals at all. Win at all costs. Lie, cheat, and steal to win.
But of course the same people who criticize every little thing Cruz does or says that can be spun as disingenuous will conveniently ignore the Dems dishonest tactics.

Funny how that works.

I wish Cruz would get nominated to something because we are going to sweat out every election he is in.

He is always going to be the target of DNC funding and they will throw their best Texas candidate at him every time. Because he is the vulnerable statewide seat due to his demeanor and high unfavorables. One of these days, someone is going to beat him.

So my wife says to me last night that she is going to vote for Allred because Cruz is going to take away her social security. We had a spirited discussion about that but I am not sure that she wouldn't say the same thing tonight.

Allred commercials are constant in North Texas, and it clearly made an impression on my wife.

Ted has to push back at least on that issue. Letting Allred describe Ted's position isn't working on Social Security.
Ask your wife if she is concerned at all about the solvency of the Social Security system. Does she want it to be there at all for you and her in the future?

Yes, Cruz has said that the retirement age will likely need to be raised. Other modifications will be required in order to keep the program solvent. Otherwise, one day the only alternative will be to either shut down the whole thing; or worse, nationalize ALL retirement accounts and programs.

Cruz is trying to balance the Social Security outflows vs. inflows. That's his job. Allred is basically saying that money is free in perpetuity. We all know that it is not. So why is your wife buying into that elementary argument?

In the end, it is Allred's positition that will result in Social Security being taken away.
I understand it is a difficult conversation, but you need to have it with her.

Latest Allred ad just dropped. Saw it multiple times already just today.

First half is about him playing football and "no pain, no gain."

The second half says Ted Cruz is only in it to enrich himself and blaming him for the power failures and deaths during the snowpocolypse.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

Based on OP's posting history, it's not a genuine statement of concern. Regardless, opposing men playing in women's sports is absolutely a winning issue.

If you live in Texas, you are probably seeing an incredibly heavy rotation of a "boys playing in girls sports" ads. I get that Ted is trying to trigger/scare the olds but of all the things to throw at his opponent, that's his choice? He has to be turning off three folks for every one thats he's trying to gain. There are a hundred policy differences from the border to being business friendly but that's what they chose? Is he trying to lose?

You're correct that he should be focusing on other issues as well. But what are you trying to say about the non "olds"? Do you really have that low of an opinion of them that you would think they would be FOR men in women's sports? What kind of degenerates do you think they are?

Quote:

DALLAS For the second day in a row, Colin Allred got another boost to his campaign by national Democrats, suggesting the party is now closely watching the U.S. Senate race in Texas with a little more than a month left until the November election.

The Democratic National Committee announced Friday morning that it's giving $75,000 to the Texas Democratic Party to increase turnout in South Texas, specifically citing Allred's campaign against incumbent Republican Ted Cruz.

The investment comes on the heels of Thursday's announcement from the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee that it will air TV ads in this race for the first time.

"These next six weeks are crucial, and national investment is key to fueling our ground game," said Texas Democratic Party Chair Gilberto Hinojosa, who lives in Brownsville.

"The DNC is committed to electing Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz, and ensuring Democrats like Colin Allred, Vicente Gonzalez, and Michelle Vallejo have the resources to run competitive races across the map in red and blue states alike," said DNC Chair Jaime Harrison in a statement. "The investment we're announcing today in the Texas State Democratic Party shows these priorities in action."

The DNC is flush with money right now after Kamala Harris supercharged enthusiasm in the party since taking over for President Biden at the top of the Democratic ticket.

Still, Democrats say this is the first time the DNC has directly invested in every state and U.S. territory for electoral purposes. It is also a sign of increasing confidence the national party has in Allred.

Democrats going all in to win the Texas Senate seat according the WFAA (aka MSNBC of North Texas).

I guess when the party has more money than God, might as well spend it and force the Republicans to spend money defending a seat they shouldn't have to.

I've never understood why Cruz is considered "unlikable". Is it because he is really smart and suburban women don't like the way he looks? Is he considered too mean for some people's delicate sensibilities? The guy has always come across, to me, as extremely smart, conservative, and at times funny. Do people hate him because he tells it like it is and they would rather be lied to?

In a campaign ad paid for by Win it Back PAC, Houston Angel mom Alexis Nungaray described the murder of her 12-year-old daughter, Jocelyn, who was strangled to death by Venezuelan men after they illegally entered the country and were released by Border Patrol agents through Biden-Harris "catch and release" policies. Less than 30 days after they were released, Jocelyn "was found down there in the Bayou. She had no pants on. They bound her feet and they just left her like nothing, all because of that policy catch and release," Alexis said. "Colin Allred pushing that policy ultimately took my daughter's life. Colin Allred didn't kill my daughter, but his policies are why she's dead."

"For Colin Allred to say that Sen. Cruz and I advocating for stronger immigration laws is only for political gain is a slap in the face to me," she said. "I'm not doing this for anyone's gain, I'm doing this to solely advocate for my daughter. Jocelyn's voice was ripped away from her. It is now my duty as a mother to forever be her voice, and no one will ever take that away from me. Colin Allred has no right to tell me how to fight for my daughter's memory."

After Jocelyn was murdered on June 17, Alexis has been calling for action to end the policies that she and countless angel parents across the country say killed their loved ones. Her actions include testifying before Congress several times, meeting with state and local lawmakers and endorsing former President Donald Trump and Cruz, R-Houston, whom Allred is challenging for Senate.

Allred has consistently voted against border security bills, even ones that fellow Texas Democrats U.S. Reps. Henry Cuellar and Vicente Gonzalez, supported, The Center Square reported. High profile Democrats have endorsed Cruz, including the Democratic district attorney prosecuting the case against Jocelyn's alleged murderers.

There are 2 different advertisements that demonstrate how Colin Allred voted to allow transgender girls to compete against biological women. That is unfair and dangerous. I think these advertisements will propel Ted Cruz to a close 52% to 46% win over Coin Allred.
