I even said on the debate thread that they might have turned his mike up higher to make him sound louder...but, it was probably just him.

Exactly. These rich celebrities aren't affected by the cost of gas or groceries or illegals taking over their towns. Taylor's cats cost more than some people make in a month.

Saw my college-age niece recently and TS came up. She said that she realized that Taylor really isn't that smart and seems to hate guys. Her fans act like they're in a cult. She said she's listening to other stuff now. I was pretty shocked because she was a big fan but apparently college has been good for her. Not every young woman will follow TS off a cliff. So that's one bright spot.

My entire Taylor Swift experience has been that Mastercard commercial from a couple of years back where all I remember is her serving some kid a shake. I'm guessing the song being played is one of hers?

That is literally all I know about her music (if that's even her song in the commercial).

So, I really don't have to boycott her since I'm not a patron to begin with.

Taylor Swift is a good songwriter, a great marketer, and a mediocre voice. I hear immeasurably better singers ever Sunday morning. She can be commended for her commitment to capitalism, understanding her target market and creating content that she can sell in bulk. That's all she's got, and it has made her billions. That doesn't make her an expert on leadership, politics, romance, or any other topic. Parents with any sense will make sure their screaming daughters are aware of that fact. And support Martina, not Taylor.

I used to think the same thing...but then I saw it pointed out that all 12 of her top songs were written by someone else and all by a different writer.

I'd fact check that, but it doesn't really matter since it's not like I was going to be listening to her music anyway; however, I do respect artists who write their own stuff.
