The NBA averaged 11.3 million viewers per game last season. Down from 22' and 23' but slightly higher than 21'.

By comparison the NFL averaged 17.3 million per game in 23'.

11 million a game?? I'm gonna need to see a citation for that. I think you put a decimal point in the wrong place, Michael Bolton.

Watching players play the game for it's entertainment value and nothing more.

Very much like listening to a musician or watching a movie even though you don't like the artists politics.

No because modern basketball sucks. I'm not so simple minded to choose what I enjoy based on political views of participants.
Agree. IMHO, which may be inaccurate, my desire to watch slowly diminished as the star power attraction began taking over the team sport aspects. The beginnings were the Magic Johnson/Larry Bird battles, while entertaining at the time the sport accelerated toward the star power dominance.
Among the latter, under pretence of governing they have divided their nations into two classes, wolves and sheep.”

I don't but it has little to do with politics. It is just a very boring league. NFL preseason games and MLB spring training games pique more interest for me than even early round NBA playoff games.

My last viewing days were in 94-95 during the Rockets championships. Other than that, I couldn't care less….

My son likes the Mavs and is also a big Ant fan. We watch some games sometimes. If I am flipping around, I'll watch a game with Wemby, just because he's a pretty fun player to watch. But it is definitely far down my list of sports that I watch.

It has gotten better IMO than the product was 10-15 years ago, which was just running a bunch of isolation plays. Teams actually seem to be running some actual offense again.

Absolutely still watch. Just bought tickets for the Mavs-Rockets game on New Year's Day.
Y'all are just butthurt b/c your Pinche Spurs and Rockettes suck.

Kerr is a *****bag. Pop is a bitter, miserable *****bag. I don't need to listen to their drivel. I can just enjoy watching entertaining game.

If you're gonna boycott the NBA, you may wanna double check college football as well. Statistically, most Aggie players probably align w/ Pop's and Kerr's politics.

Do most Aggie players use their notoriety to spew their stupid politics?
Do most NBA players use their notoriety to spew their stupid politics?

No, they don't. And the two loudest, stupidest (Pop and Kerr) aren't even players.

Also, there are some great, positive examples of NBA players and coaches standing up for what's right. See below.

I like how you conveniently left out the word "Finals" after "NBA' and words "regular seaon" after "NFL".

NFL Wild Card weekend averaged 31.2 million viewers, Divisional round was 40 million, and the AFC and NFC championship games averaged 56.1 million viewers.

I still watch. Not as much during the regular season now. Some during the playoffs and finals. Had a good time the last time I attended in person. But that was a few years ago.

You brought up Aggie players' politics. My point is most people don't have a problem with players' politics, it's when they start kneeling or woking out in some other stupid fashion that people get turned off. The NBA is the king of sellout woke bs compared to other leagues (WNBA is just an appendage of the NBA). Most players probably just want to do their jobs and get their away game hos pregnant and not rep woke causes.

I don't watch any professional sports. I quit watching the NBA first, back when Willis Reed, Walt Frazier, and Dave DeBusschere played. I watched the playoffs a couple of years when Bird and Jordan were playing though.

I couldn't name five current NBA players and only a couple of MLB players.
I quit regularly watching the NBA in the early 2000s. Had zero to do with anyone's politics. Probably 10 years ago I stopped watching the playoffs. I couldn't name more the 5 current NBA players.

MLB has always been a big snooze to me.
I loved playing baseball, then at around 20 to 27, played in a fast-pitch league in my hometown and on a traveling tournament team. Then added slow pitch men's league and a coed league (abandoned slow pitch after a couple of years). Four of us coached Little League baseball (rotated around since all of us were playing softball but on different teams). It got to where we told time by innings, rather than hours and minutes!

Though I loved playing baseball and softball, I wouldn't watch MLB if someone gave me World Series tickets. As a spectator sport, it is just too slow for me to sit and watch. And gaps in action filled with meaningless jibber jabbering like "Pedro hits .272 in night games on Wednesday when he has a roast beef sandwich for lunch when playing on the road, but hits .294 at home."

Yes, I still watch/follow the NBA (Caruso!) and football and Netflix and occasional Disney movies and ESPN and I have an IPhone and use Google and about another thousand services and products that probably had someone involved who is or leans Blue. It would be a dreary existence and exhausting even trying to boycott everyone and everything..

I did not know this and read more about it after your post. Thanks!

Hard to imagine Kerr supports the very people that killed his father. Not trying to be funny with the reference but this is truly turning to the dark side.

So don't care that they support China? Just as long as you think they are Hall of Fame coaches with zero integrity.

No chance of ever watching another Pro basketball game in my lifetime. Unlimited reasons why this should not be the standard answer.

I like basketball. The young players in OKC, Minnesota, etc are phenomenal. Joker and Luka are unlike anything we've ever seen. I don't keep up with their politics but enjoy watching them play.

Is there a prize for the guy that jumps the highest here to declare he'll never watch again?
