I literally haven't watched it since the days of Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker. It's a shame what they've done to pro sports..
Same here.

I was a lifelong Rockets fan growing up and watched almost every regular season game. During my college years it was fun to talk trash to my roomates that were Spurs or Mavs fans.

That Spurs group seemed to be the last of the hard-nosed, unselfish teams. The NBA got boring after that.

Then it went super woke.

I can't even name a Rockets player at this point.

Do they even need a coach? If it is on and I catch some, it seems like street ball and I can imagine whoever buys the best athlete is going to put 5 out there that can beat the guys down the street.

I loved BB back in the day of Malone, Starks, Ewing, Rodman, Laimbeer, Mason, Oakley, Olajuwon.

Pistons, Knicks, etc.

No politics.

Those days are gone forever.

The NBA averaged 11.3 million viewers per game last season. Down from 22' and 23' but slightly higher than 21'.

By comparison the NFL averaged 17.3 million per game in 23'.

Pro tip, the apostrophe goes in front on the number for abbreviated years. You wrote about different lengths in feet…

Used to watch about 20 years back but the interest in pro Basketball faded as its interest in defense faded and politics increased.

I only rarely watch pro football. Too noisy, way too many commercial breaks, too clean and generic and produced, just kind of boring even though they are very good at what they do,

I watch the Astros and.college sports. Baseball is still cerebral and isn't constant loud racket and commercials every other play, and college football has the most interesting story lines, varied matchups year over year. College baseball and basketball are similar.

I don't watch the NBA nearly as much as I used to, but that's mostly because the game has gotten boring. I couldn't care less about the politics of actors, athletes, musicians, and so on. I'd rather enjoy art and entertainment than pick it apart for something that makes little difference to my enjoyment.

Yeah Astros and CFB are definitely the top 2 for me as well.

I used to love basketball and the NBA, was my favorite sport to follow growing up. Then one day probably 7-8 years ago I just stopped caring. I have probably watched 5-6 total basketball games in that timeframe. I detest the politics and culture of the nba but that isn't the entire reason as I don't have an interest in college basketball either. Plus, I still watch the NFL, although less than I used to and I no longer care who wins the games, I just watch it like a tv show.

That's still pretty high even for the NBA. Did they have to collect their paychecks on a ladder?

Joking aside, haven't watched the NBA in forever and probably won't watch another game either.

Last time I actually watched was way back in 1995 or so. But I was never a basketball fan, so there's that.

Those were pretty good days, but was also the time I started losing interest in the NBA. They stopped calling fouls on a lot of plays, and now the NBA is heading toward full body armor.

Still prefer the 70s with Downtown Freddie Brown, Hondo Havlicek, Dr. J, Elvin Hayes, Walt Frazier, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, George "The Iceman" Gervin, etc.,.. Just seemed to be a lot more fun back then.

Absolutely still watch. Just bought tickets for the Mavs-Rockets game on New Year's Day.
Y'all are just butthurt b/c your Pinche Spurs and Rockettes suck.

Kerr is a *****bag. Pop is a bitter, miserable *****bag. I don't need to listen to their drivel. I can just enjoy watching entertaining game.

If you're gonna boycott the NBA, you may wanna double check college football as well. Statistically, most Aggie players probably align w/ Pop's and Kerr's politics.

I don't watch any professional sports. I quit watching the NBA first, back when Willis Reed, Walt Frazier, and Dave DeBusschere played. I watched the playoffs a couple of years when Bird and Jordan were playing though.

I couldn't name five current NBA players and only a couple of MLB players.

To me its less about politics and more about how whiny NBA players have gotten. It's out of control.

I have watched more the last few years but still far far less than I used to. Players making 40-50M + and complain they way they do turns me off. Just my personal opinion.

I quit regularly watching the NBA in the early 2000s. Had zero to do with anyone's politics. Probably 10 years ago I stopped watching the playoffs. I couldn't name more the 5 current NBA players.

MLB has always been a big snooze to me.

I still watch NBA games, but I agree that it is the most woke professional sports league. I am a Warriors fan, and on Instagram, I noticed Steve Kerr endorsing Kamla Harris for President. Like some Warriors and other NBA fans, I responded with Trump 2024!

It just isn't as offensively skilled a product as it was in 70s and 80s.

Part of that blame belongs to the feeder system that is the NCAA. By restricting practice hours back in the 1990s, they forced college coaches to make adjustments in what they taught. Defense grew in emphasis to the loss of teaching passing and shot selection.

I miss the Dr. J Sixers, the Bird Celtics, the Kareem Lakers and I even miss Bad Boy Pistons. Any of those teams would wipe the floor with what is called a champion in the modern game. They could play offense with skill, something these clowns lack in an age of isolation hoops.

I haven't watched NBA since the early aughts when it became a game played by BS no-touching or a foul gets called.

When Stephen Curry just has to get to his spot and he cane be challenged or a foul will be called, the games gone to sheet AFAIC.

I only watched if the Spurs are good which hasn't been the case in the past 10 years. Adding in the political and social justice nonsense makes the watchability subzero for me.
