Didn't see this posted already so here goes, SIAP.
I love this clip for so many reasons, but mainly because the Crossfire segment between Tucker Carlson and Jon Stewart was very enlightening for me. It was at this point that I realized just how powerful and damaging political satire can be, because the attacks are just as poignant as any political attack, but the satirist has zero responsibility to be honest or truthful because they can play their "I'm just a comedian" card and not be held accountable.
Remembering back to The Daily Show 20 years ago, it was one of the most influential and powerful political shows on the planet. People loved the comedy and the humor, and it was the primary news source for millions of Americans.
And with that following, Jon Stewart did more damage to the political discourse in this country than almost anyone I know.
Jon Stewart is a horrible human being.
