Army Lieutenant Colonel Kristen Aug, the state public affairs officer for Minnesota National Guard, told Just the News on Wednesday that the governor did not retire as "Command Sergeant Major Walz" in 2005, as stated on Minnesota's official website, but as master sergeant "because he did not complete additional coursework at the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy." A soldier who does not complete the requisite coursework is automatically demoted, according to Army regulations.

The reason Tampon Timmy didn't complete the coursework?

The WARNORD for his unit to deploy to Iraq showed up.

So he was going to hang around and study to achieve that rank, until things got a bit too hot for Tampax Man.

But he was carrying arms in combat. He will tell you so.

Just don't ask him where he did it.

Also, while talking against AR-15s, he's mentioned carrying his rifle "into war". I believe that was an untrue characterization.

Yes, implemented in 2022 for those that don't complete 90 days or more on federal active duty for training, full-time training duty, active duty for operational support or more than 30 days of active on a contingency operation. Those that served 90 days active duty already received a dd214. He should have one, I believe.

He keeps saying he served 25 years in the army and in my mind that is quite different than serving 25 years in the national guard (edit to say during his time period of service).

He served in the national guard 1 weekend a month and two weeks in the summer - during his national guard duty he was called up for a couple of months to deploy as active duty army over the entire 25 years.

In my mind this is stolen valor as well by him saying he was serving in the army for 25 years.

Don't think this issue is going away as apparently Walz was making similar claims during his first Congressional race?

If that true and he's been lying about his service for years?

Calls Kamala Harris' judgment into question, not that there weren't already ample reasons to question said judgment.

Stolen Valor is an easy vet. But not surprised members of Biden's White House would fail that job with their usual remarkable incompetence.

As a Navy reservist, I have a DD-214, but I received it after I left my initial recruit training and tech school. The document you get when you separate as a reservist is different (unless he was called up and was active duty when he retired).

Kamala Harris did not make this decision.

Whoever had been running the country in place of the potato made this decision.

Vets take this stuff seriously, as they should. I have full confidence that the Vets in Congress and the vet groups will get this sorted out.

I still think all of this stuff is secondary lines of attack. Important but not the most important. Kamala and Walz have dangerous ideas. The Dems are talking about Trump and Vance and the GOP wanting to be in the doctors offices and IVF clinics telling you want to do. They are making the ideas are dangerous arguments even if they are lieing about what they are saying.

Vance is making the right arguments. Trump needs to start doing the same thing in his own Trumpian way. He won't be like Vance, that's fine. But he can make the same arguments in his own way. Let the punditry class bring up all the personal stuff. Stick to policy and every now and again drop a question about stolen valor, etc.

Making the race about Kamala sleeping her way to the presidency or whether she went to school in Canada or not or what her race is. That does nothing for the people that you need to vote Trump that may not vote for him. Everyone that's locked into Trump can be fed all the personal red meat by the conservative pundit class.

It's not stolen valor. The NG is still the Army. It trains with active and reserve compos, must meet the same requirements, and sees more combat deployments to centcom than active duty.

Walz stolen valor is claiming he's a combat vet who went to war when he actually fled from combat.

Quote:

Yes. Walz served 24 years in the Army National Guard. He served right up to the point where the pay, benefits, and connections associated with Guard membership were outweighed by his fear of having his ass shot off. As Matt Funicello points out, he retired two years before the end of his enlistment contract. To retire early, he had to take a demotion. His retirement was driven by his desire to avoid service in Iraq. As a result, his battalion deployed into combat without Walz, the senior enlisted man in that battalion. His cowardice required a change in senior positions to replace him at the very time when the battalion should have been 100% focused on getting ready to fight.

To be fair, Kerry's although minor may not have been self-inflicted.
