Oh yes, he all love him in Texas, and heard all sorts of fantastic things about him long before he was picked for VP running mate.

And who exactly are progressive policies popular with?

Poster thinks progressive policies make lives better. You can't fix someone like that, they are too fargone.

Expanded worker protections and worker rights have proven to be good and popular policies. And they are by their nature progressive. We should strengthen the working class, not kneecap them.

Same with investments in public education and industry. These things improve the quality of life for people.

It bothers me when republicans pearl clutch over the government spending money on things. Oh you do believe we should spend money on things, just not THESE things.

Worker rights? You libs love pretending the workplace is cruel and dangerous like the 1920's.

He probably thinks this. He has probably never stepped foot into a "workplace" lol

Abortion, aka Womens healthcare rights, are a top subject of the Dem campaign.

What is Minnesota law and how does this play out?

Great question.

Abortion in Minnesota is legal at all stages of pregnancy.

ALL STAGES.

Policies that make it more expensive an burdensome to hire workers is, by definition, kneecapping workers.

He is one of the most effective and popular governors in the country. He has been fantastic for Minnesota.

He's also very likable, whereas his Republican counterpart is about as likable as 2 weeks expired milk.

How has he been fantastic for Minnesota? Please share his policies that have helped Minnesota become fantastic.

Expanded sectoral bargaining - giving unions more power and raising labor costs
Guaranteed paid sick leave - more higher labor costs
Expanded worker rights - even more higher labor costs
Automatic voter registration - voting for illegals
Legalized weed - what was the question again?
Massive investments in public education - brainwashing for the youth
Free school lunches - socialism!
Tax rebates for working class - wealth re-distribution

The republicans coping by saying he was a terrible pick truly have no idea what they're talking about. Walz is awesome and is firing up the socialist base big time.

For all the **** that democratic states get, Minnesota is a success story that shows you what a socialist government can do for you! Vote for us and we'll give you more!

Wow. So many strawmen.

Military protects the country, I would argue the protection of its citizenship is the main purpose of the govt. If we just brought back what we left in Afghanistan we wouldn't need our police to buy any.

Who's itching to fight foreign wars? How many were started under Trump again?

Bail out banks? Thanks Obama.

Cut taxes for millionaires - okay, that has some standing. But it's not my job to explain, and not my fault you don't understand who does all the hiring in this country. But the tax cuts also were for the everyday working family.

Your progressive policies result in too many dollars chasing too few goods a drive inflation to record numbers. People don't like that.

LMAO.

Good job Democrats.

You fools will be banished to the wastelands for this ticket.

And enjoy your degenerates rioting in Chicago.

Harrison Krank needs to go back to school.

Mondale wasn't picked to be VP in 1984. He was running for President. Geraldine Ferraro was the VP on the Democrat ticket.

He had been VP under Carter. When they lost in 1980, Carter won 6 states and D.C.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

I'm sure the same question is buried somewhere here in this thread already, but I would love to know whether this choice was due to kowtowing to the antisemitic wing of the Democrat party, or if Shapiro himself decided he didn't want the stench of being her running mate on his resume. Unfortunately, we will never know. Regardless, this is a Republican level faux pas. Walz brings nothing to the table in terms of electoral college votes (Minnesota was always going to vote D), and it makes Pennsylvania much more difficult for them to hold, even accounting for the vote harvesting machine in Philly.

Trump has been given a gift here. I hope he makes hay with it, but my fear is he trips over his own dengus by making personal attacks again instead of warning the country that this Democrat ticket, policy-wise, is a loaded gun pointed squarely at the United States.

After watching zombie biden for these years and having to accept that he was our only way to defeat Trump was so depressing. It zapped the energy out of the base and the polls showed it. This new ticket gives us new energy.

Certainly gives new energy to the pro-Hamas, Islamo-Nazi wing of your party.

For everyone else, it is more evidence the only Jewish presence desired in the Democrat Party are their votes in November.

Kamala Harris VP pick Tim Walz disrespected MN National Guard members during 2020 BLM riots, referred to them as "19 year old cooks".

He was a member of the NG....until his unit was scheduled to deploy to Iraq, whereupon he "retired", leaving his unit without senior enlisted leadership.

An artillery unit, by the way.

And do we even have Army cooks anymore? I thought those jobs were all contracted out.

Looking at the list below, I'm having a hard time finding the battalion of cooks.

https://ngmnpublic.azurewebsites.us/units/

Joint Force Headquarters
34th Red Bull Infantry Division
1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division
34th Expeditionary Combat Aviation Brigade
347th Regional Support Group
84th Troop Command

Remember who was doing the vetting for Kamala's VP pick...Obama's wingman...Eric Holder.

All of this background coming out in a matter of hours after the announcement is quite telling. Holder knew all of this.
