I am very glad we won't see a Biden second term, and I have many complaints against him as well, but his accomplishments should not be ignored.

The Infrastructure Act is so good that the exact same Republicans who voted against it are touting new infrastructure projects in their own districts and pretending like they were for it all along

LOL the infrastructure act was soooo good and buried with DEI that a chip company that wanted to build a plant here said "**** it....we are going to mexico"

The inflation reduction act did such a good job that the cost of real goods and services has only seen a 40-50% increase.

Duuuuuude......u can't be serious can you?

Saying "we aren't as ****ed as europe" does not mean he did good.

Wasn't that the act that spent like a billion dollars to build seven electric car charging stations?

I asked Chat GPT if there was anything he did that a conservative would like, and I got these 5 items.

So, the answer to OPs question is "NO"

[ol]
  • Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal: President Biden worked with both Republicans and Democrats to pass a $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill. This bill is aimed at improving the nation's roads, bridges, railways, and broadband internet, which is something that enjoys support across the political spectrum.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination Rollout: The Biden administration continued the nationwide effort to distribute and administer COVID-19 vaccines, which was initiated under the Trump administration. This ongoing public health effort has been vital in curbing the pandemic's impact.
  • China Policy: President Biden has largely continued a tough stance on China, similar to the previous administration. This includes addressing issues such as trade imbalances, intellectual property theft, and human rights abuses.
  • Support for Law Enforcement: Biden has expressed support for law enforcement and has emphasized the need for more funding for policing, albeit with reforms. This can resonate with Republicans who prioritize law and order.
  • Military Funding: President Biden proposed a substantial defense budget, reflecting a continued commitment to maintaining strong U.S. military capabilities.

the other was having small 7 ft apart circle "rallies" as he yelled about not opening the economy until we eradiated the deadly disease, needing to invest in more plexiglass to combat it, and a dark winter of death and despair coming ahead. supposedly, a record shattering +81 million thought this + the open border he was advertising was the way to go.

Picture all of the states going either the "Blue" COVID Lockdown Level route....or the "Red" COVID Lockdown Level route and what the effect on the overall economy would have been depending on which route was taken and how long it was continued.

Also, imagine Biden being in office in 2020 rather than Trump and the likelihood of there being much more Federal level pressure from the top down to go the Blue Lockdown Level Route rather than letting the states do it their way (as Trump did).

You went a bunch of different directions there but Biden still wasn't president in 2020.

If you are giving Biden inflation then he gets job growth IMHO as they were tied. The majority of the inflation was a result of post pandemic supply side economics coupled with TWO stimulus packages.

Your last comment about "socialist countries in Europe". Who would you compare our economy too then? China (ours is better). All of Asia (ours is better). Or not compare to anyone and just go by"feels". It's a global economy. It is 100% relevant our economic measures compared to the rest of the world.

I am not a Biden fan. I also don't believe most of the people on this site have seen any meaningful declines in their individual family positions over last 4 years. Vacation spending is at an all time high. Struggling people can't afford vacations.

    From USAToday in November, 2021:

    Quote:

COVID-19 has killed more people in 2021 than 2020, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data shows.

The disease was reported as the underlying cause of death or a contributing cause of death for an estimated 377,883 people in 2020, accounting for 11.3% of deaths, according to the CDC. As of Monday, more than 770,000 people have died from the coronavirus, according to Johns Hopkins University data. That means over 15,000 more people have died in 2021 than last year from COVID-19 and there's still more than a month left.

And Biden was armed with the vax....at least as much as one can theoretically be, anyway.

Point being.....we should have gone the Sweden route. Trump's route was much closer to that than any imagined version of Biden's route would have been.

This mythical $1.75/gallon gas was caused by COVID. Prior to the pandemic gas was running in the $2.50-$2.75 range.

No one would trade spring of 2020 for cheap gas.

You can't give Trump credit for the COVID driven low gasoline price levels any more than you can give Biden credit for simply letting the economy re-open.

The argument is really still the same even if you use the pre-covid numbers. It's still up ~30% from pre-covid. Arguing the $1.75 just gives leftists something to distract from inflation for a moment.

Didn't say that. I said if you are giving credit for inflation then he gets credit for the supply chain pressures of 10M people returning to work caused.

It's like Trump gets a pass for COVID job losses (not his fault) and credit for "cheap gas" (also not his fault).

    Here are a few...

    • Signed the PACT Act in 2022 which has awarded claims for over 1 million veterans harmed by burn pits and other toxic exposure
    • Reauthorized and strengthened the Violence Against Women Act
    • Awarded nearly $300 million for mental health professionals in schools as part of the Office of Gun Violence Prevention
    • Pushed oil companies to ramp up production when Russia's war shook the market so that US oil production is at an all time high of ~13 million barrels per day
    • Secured agreement from Japan and South Korea to ally against China with increased defense spending from both
    • Partnered with NATO allies to push back against Russian aggression in Ukraine and strengthened the NATO alliance through the addition of Finland and Sweden as well as increased military spending from key members (Germany, Poland, France)
    • Literally decimated the Russian military without putting American troops in harms way
    • Continued to expand health insurance coverage so that the rates of uninsured Americans are at all time lows
