This one's easy. There's nothing inherently wrong with the phrase "black jobs", the issue is the context in which Trump said it. Trump's comment was that illegal immigrants are taking black jobs. But what sort of jobs hire illegal immigrants? They primarily work in construction, farm work, as janitors, and in food service. So mainly illegal immigrants are working in low paying jobs that require a lot of manual labor.

And if Trump says illegal immigrants are taking "black jobs", that implies the jobs they're taking are the ones that black Americans should be doing. So he apparently thinks that black Americans should be doing those low paying, manual labor jobs and that they should be upset when those jobs are instead taken by an illegal immigrant.

Never said everyone in Jamaica was black, so you wasted a lot of time arguing against a point I never made. Harris is descended from black Jamaicans who likely got there in the exact same way black people were brought to America.

But you know what. You go on doing exactly what you're doing. Go out there and scream to the top of your lungs that Kamala Harris isn't really black. In fact, I hope all Republicans do the same.

Why do you think this is a gotcha? She's introduced as "the first Senator of Indian American heritage in the history of US Senate." They're highlighting her Indian heritage because nobody with that heritage had served in the US Senate before. They don't say she doesn't have any other heritage. If no African American had served in the US Senate before, they might have highlighted that too. Heritage isn't exclusive these days.

It's not a gotcha, it's a shift in her marketing.

Of course she's part Indian.

She's not an African American.

She's Jamaican-Indian American.

Now she's being touted as a Black candidate.

It's really not that hard.
I don't think she's ever identified herself as one or the other - she's always seemed to embrace both. The fact that some story in the press identifies her as the first of this or the other doesn't mean she's shifted her marketing. Trump and his supporters can do their best to make it stick, but it's just ridiculous. (And, by the way, I'm not even going to bother with the Jamaican / black distinction - just wow ...)

Might want to defer to the GOP strategists here:

There's a little place called "reality" and I welcome you to join us here.

It's a FACT that most employed black people have jobs that fall in the category you mentioned. It has nothing to do with what jobs they SHOULD be taking - that's an opinion.

Gee, I wonder where all those black people in Jamaica came from?
Actually...in case you were wondering.

The first Jamaicans were the Taino Indians who settled in Jamaica around 600 AD. They were stoneage peoples who had migrated to Jamaica from the northern coast of South America.

The vast majority of Jamaicans are of Sub-Saharan African descent, with minorities of Europeans, Indians, Chinese, Middle Eastern, and others of mixed ancestry.

Yep some African descent but not what we consider African-American.

C- for effort.

Per the Jamaican embassy site:

"Most Jamaican slaves came from the region of modern day Ghana, Nigeria and Central Africa, and included the Akan, Ashanti, Yoruba, Ibo and Ibibio peoples."

Black slaves from Nigeria and Central Africa went to both the US and Jamaica so it's not at all improbable that a Jamaican and African-American could have similar family lineage prior to being enslaved.

https://www.embassyofjamaica.org/about_jamaica/history.htm

Now, does part of Harris's family descend from Jamaican slaves? I honestly have no idea because I genuinely don't care. Won't be voting for her one way or the other.

Never criticized her for talking about her in heritage criticized her for changing who she's trying to appeal to by Slightly tweaking who she is and where she came from. Liberals are absolutely trying to make a gotcha moment out of these bull**** interviews with Trump.

You really don't see it do you? You do not see the constant racism that comes from people like you, the left. All the time. You're always willing to believe the worst about Republicans but will not see your own failures. The only side that cares about racism is yours. Not ours. You have Warren thinking she's an Indian. She's not, you have Kamala changing what she is daily to appeal to certain groups whereas you never see Republicans, pretending to be something they're not. Republicans are the ones that open their arms to everyone. Y'all insult everyone.

I find your arguments to be childish, pathetic, racist, and immature just like the Democrat party and just like Kamala Harris. You cannot stand that people are insulting this woman on who she is so you have to bring racism into it. Basically what that horrible reporter said in the Democrat party is saying today is how dare you criticize Kamala because she is a woman and because she is multi racial. You literally have her off-limits because of that so she can't be even criticize on her performance. It's ****ed up.

We were all joking about about how she's flip-flopping to be eight different races to please everyone and have fake accents and pretend she's someone she's not, but she don't give a **** about that. You don't give a **** that she's calling Trump some of the worst names and so is the Democratic Party because you think he deserves it. You can't see how hypocritical that is.

I don't personally know any conservative that gives one rip about race (though I am sure they exist just like they most certainly do on the left as race is ALWAYS a talking point with them) . As has been stated, it is the fact that KH is such a blatant opportunist (and serial liar, and idiot, etc.) concerning which race she and the media shills choose to shove down everyone's throats.

Side question (to no one in particular) - what percent of a given race do you have to have in order to claim it? Is 1% enough, and if so if you are 99% say German, and 1% of some minority, can you claim minority status?
