Respectfully, I completely disagree. He lied about a number of his accomplishments. Framing "democracy is at stake" and insinuating another party being democratically elected as the onset of a fascist dictatorship is dishonest and dangerous. That is not a unifying message at all.
Democracy is what the people want. When Joe says democracy is at stake, he is turning half the country against those who have conservative policy preferences. To him, democracy = liberalism.

I'm not going to get into a litany of items to support my point. And before you think you have a gotcha, I'd say the exact same thing about many Republicans. Biden is one of the more self serving politicians of my lifetime. His documented history of lying rivals just about anyone. I can respect different opinions when well thought out and motivated by the best intentions for others. Disagreements often spring from two well intentioned people. What I don't suffer are hypocrites, on either side of the aisle.
the problem is he gave this speech with the American people knowing damn well that he doesn't want to give up the Presidency. We're looking at a man that has spent 50 plus years in government, reached the pinnacle of American politics, and makes a 180 turn in less than 24 hours to not seek re-election.
