I don't get how he is determining the direction of the shots? He doesn't go into it.

Regardless of which direction the bullet is traveling you still hear the same crack boom

Based on the audio I do hear multiple weapons being fired at least 3.

But don't see how you tell if the bullet is traveling away from the microphone or towards the microphone based on the audio here
