I think the SS may actively jam frequencies to prevent explosives from being set off. I'm pretty sure the military did the same in Afghanistan and Iraq to defeat roadside IEDs. The hobbyist electronic equipment he had broadcasts in known unlicensed frequency bands, so they wouldn't need to jam DC to daylight.

Hadn't read that. I do know that LE removed the battery from his transmitter. And even if it were turned on, his brain got splatted before he ever would have had a chance to use it.

Well according to the Beaver County report that was released to Grassley the two improvised explosive devices found in Thomas Matthew Crooks' car following his failed assassination attempt used electric matches and a radio-controlled system designed for initiating fireworks -- both of which can be readily purchased online. The devices were wired to detonate on two separate circuits and signals located in the trunk of his 1994 white Hyundai parked in the lot adjacent to the AGR complex. Materials matching the devices were also found in the van home parked in the neighborhood across from the fairgrounds. No mentioned of them being either turned on or off just that they were wired to detonate.

It's been a while since the shooting. Seems odd to me as an outsider that it would take this much time. It seems local cops are placed on leave immediately after they shoot someone, pending an investigation. I realize this is different but still.

I don't think that at all. I bet they're perfectly fine trickling out info to drive wild speculation and obfuscate the multiple levels of failure that happened.

The more conspiracy and debate they can spin up, the less substance they have to actually deal with. They can get self righteous and claim how irresponsible it is to speculate while they gather facts.
