Not sure how anyone could plan to sit in a prone position a hundred yards from the former president in broad daylight and plan to get off more than 50 rounds using a semi-auto rifle. Let alone after they were alerted to your presence 30 minutes, or 2 hours prior or whatever one chooses to believe.

Oswald didn't have anywhere near that many rounds with him (bolt action…), from much further away, nor did any presidential assassin I am aware of in our history.

I think it's really as simple as the local cops screwed it up, rushing his shot, responding to the complaints/crowd. Once the stage team responded, it was over.
.

Oswald was much closer than this dumbass.

Oswald's shot was much more challenging, vs. a moving target (and waving etc) using a craptastic surplus italian bolt action rifle he wasn't overly familiar with (obviously without a scope, though Oswald was a better marksman by all accounts). Just my two cents, sorry, not trying to get in trouble with a…much longer topic.

Crooks' shot, unrushed, if at center mass, is one any 10-12 year old in Texas who has gone deer hunting makes.

Agree, the mass shooting angle is bunk. Seems it would have been much easier for him just to start spraying bullets into the crowd at will rather than do all the advance scouting work he did. Nope, he was there to kill DJT and came within a ****'s hair of doing just that.

Ya'll for all the computer models, videos, "Expert" opinions, etc... the shooter delivered a death shot! Divine Intervention. God stepped in and shifted DJT's head to avoid that shot. To avoid certain death. We watched it.

Find faith in God if you have not. Lift up His name. I wager to say that DJT speaks more of his faith in God after this event.

That rifle was considered accurate, Oswald had a 4x scope, and the distance was significantly less. Don't know why you think he was unfamiliar with the rifle, he had it over 6mo at the time he shot Kennedy. Plus, Oswald was trained in the Marines and had earned the Sharpshooter designation. There is the slowly moving car that made it somewhat more difficult, but tests showed the scope led it perfectly for that very slow speed.

Both Oswald and Crooks shots were pretty easy. Crooks had the advantage of a modern gun and a less mobile target, but Oswald had Marine training, much shorter distances, a 4x scope, and less pressure since no one knew he was there or suspicious.

Crooks entire mission though, should have been MUCH more challenging than Oswald's...harder to be able to even get to the point of getting a shot off...but it was MUCH easier. NO ONE would assume it would be even remotely possible to make it half as far as he did...and he was able to do it., with stunning ease. Just crazy to think about.

haven't seen this photo angle before, but it looks like there is a second ladder to the right on top of a small rubber-maid type shed/cabinet. We were discussing yesterday about ways he might have been able to get up without a ladder, and the cabinet and pallets on the loading dock were discussed as a possibility. Looks like he may have put a small ladder on the shed/cabinet.

it was speculated earlier in the week that he had a home depot telescoping ladder, and that is kinda what it looks like here.

https://www.homedepot.com/p/XTEND-CLIMB-15-5-ft-Aluminum-Telescoping-Extension-Ladder-19-5-Reach-Height-250-lbs-Load-Capacity-ANSI-Type-I-Duty-Rating-785P/309897050

EDIT: also, looks like the little shed is open, so maybe the ladder was in the shed? or maybe he stashed gear in that shed prior?
A reasonably fit person probably wouldn't even need a ladder there. Moar fail.

Bongino's rumble show this am was good once again.

Couple of take aways from Bongino's sources:

shooter's phone pinged a week prior at the grounds

there was no ladder used to get on the roof

There is a working THEORY that the shooter found his way on the roof because he was trying to hide from the cops and became an ad lib location of opportunity. Also he was there to for a mass shooting vs. targeting DJT
Why would he need a range finder for a mass shooting? I'm calling BS on the mass shooting theory. He was there for 1 purpose and one purpose only. To assassinate DJT.
Why would he be going all over the place with a range finder for a 140 yard shot? Its not like he was going to plop down in the open in plain site and start shooting. Can that be used just to scout stuff out at a distance in lieu of binoculars?
It only took me a year to figure out this place is nuts!

LOL, I am not the expert here but yes you are right it did have a scope. A crappy one. I disagree that it was easy.

Just offered for amusement. Those 3 shots in 8.3 seconds as such would have been…more challenging, imho. It's interesting that Oswald though (per second video) was arrested 80 minutes later for possession of the revolver. As with Crooks, he personally had a plan apparently post-shooting.

The FBI's actions (thru 1968?) relative to the Carcano Oswald used might be probative of their actions upcoming relative to Crooks' AR. Funny that involved then the national archives administration…which has been in public conflict with Trump over classified documents the past few years.

The time Oswald had was really closer to 11 seconds and the clock starts when he chooses to take the first shot. That's plenty of time.

This isn't a good enough excuse for SS to ignore a range finder, IMO. There are just some things that shouldn't be brought to an event with a world important VIP.

AR-15's, pipe bombs, ladders, truckloads of fertilizer and diesel, drones, Halloween masks of former presidents, lazer pointers, ghillie suits, fake LEO ID's, anemometers (wind meters), and range finders, in my opinion, all fit within that list.

I know cosplaying as Reagan might be fun at a Trump rally, but, really, you need to leave that mask at home.

For this to take place, you had to have errors all the way up and down the board:

1) Insufficient SS agents
2) Undertrained DEI agents
3) terrible planning to have that rooftop as a blind spot
4) Ignoring many, MANY different warning signs that any sane person would at least get Trump off of the stage for. The kid pre-cased the area, brought a range finder, and climbed a roof 130 yards from the stage WITH A RIFLE, and the crowd was yelling about him.

Someone should have interrupted the event at some point until this threat was addressed. Could have been as easy as asking Trump to delay his appearance for 15 minutes while someone ran this guy down. The fact that this didn't happen shows that you have the D (or, is it, DEI?) squad protecting the frontrunner for POTUS.
