I've seen some folks say some version of "if he hated politicians, why would he try to kill trump? he should like trump because he's an outsider/not a politician/etc." which for those of us over 30 might seem true, but trump has been the most famous politician in the world since the shooter was old enough to be aware of politics

makes me wonder if very young adults like the shooter are starting to see trump as a status-quo just-another-politician since he's been around for half their lives.

To me, this will be the key. What were the rules about engaging the shooter? Was there a standing rule that the snipers are allowed to shoot if they perceive a threat, but somebody was on the radio telling them to hold off from shooting in this case? Were the snipers forbidden from engaging a man on a roof with a rifle without clearance? If so, why was that clearance withheld? Was there some other reason they did not take him out before he shot?

By now it is abundantly clear from the reported facts that the shooter was identified early on as suspicious, that he was seen on the roof before Trump ever took the stage, and that he had been seen with a rangefinder. Why was Trump allowed to take the stage before he was secured, and why once Trump was on the stage and the rifle was seen, was he not neutralized? Thos are the questions I want the USSS and local PD members who were on site that day to answer under oath. Director Cheatle has already lied about the reasons for the sniper positioning, so I don't care to hear from her except about how the staffing decisions were made. I want to hear from the boots on the ground what happened and why.

haven't seen this photo angle before, but it looks like there is a second ladder to the right on top of a small rubber-maid type shed/cabinet. We were discussing yesterday about ways he might have been able to get up without a ladder, and the cabinet and pallets on the loading dock were discussed as a possibility. Looks like he may have put a small ladder on the shed/cabinet.

Couple of take aways from Bongino's sources:

shooter's phone pinged a week prior at the grounds

there was no ladder used to get on the roof

There is a working THEORY that the shooter found his way on the roof because he was trying to hide from the cops and became an ad lib location of opportunity. Also he was there to for a mass shooting vs. targeting DJT

This really needs to be looked at as though the assassination was successful and treated that way. For all intents and purposes it was a success and only luck/divine providence prevented it from being a kill of DJT.

I also wonder about the explosives in his car. Did he try to trigger those as a distraction and his device failed? Or was that some plan to blow that up to distract for a getaway?

If a ladder wasn't used, guessing he bought that just in case but found an easy way up maybe via that storage bin near that dock.

I think it needs to be more looked at like primary and secondary targets with Trump undoubtedly the primary target.

A mass shooting is BS and cover that they stopped it with little loss.

Not buying that one. That sound like his sources trying to use him to get a CYA story out to try and save face.

Not sure how anyone could plan to sit in a prone position a hundred yards from the former president in broad daylight and plan to get off more than 50 rounds using a semi-auto rifle. Let alone after they were alerted to your presence 30 minutes, or 2 hours prior or whatever one chooses to believe.

Oswald didn't have anywhere near that many rounds with him (bolt action…), from much further away, nor did any presidential assassin I am aware of in our history.

I think it's really as simple as the local cops screwed it up, rushing his shot, responding to the complaints/crowd. Once the stage team responded, it was over.
