Where are you getting your 5ft from some reporter? Who the f*** knows. I'm just giving you a quick example of what is readily available at Home Depot. It will fit in the trunk of a compact car like he drove its easily carried under his arm. Until these idiots show the actual evidence of what he had it's just a very plausible explanation I've given and I'm betting very likely correct

I saw on here the father bought it in 2014. That was right at the height of a very real concern Obummer was going to try to outlaw these things. Prices went through the roof because everybody wanted to buy one before they were banned. People joked how good Obummer was for gun sales. People who never dreamed of owning a gun were forking over $1500-2000 for a basic AR.

So I guess in way this is Obummer's fault.
Trump will fix it.

On Friday, he went to a shooting range where he was a member, and practiced firing, a law enforcement official told CNN. The next morning, Crooks went to a Home Depot, where he bought a five-foot ladder, and a gun store, where he purchased 50 rounds of ammunition, the official said.

There are also multiple reports he didn't use a ladder to get roof access…

To be fair, they're styling it more as a 9-11 Commission, which did better (although it added additional layers of government and bureaucracy.) But comparisons to the Warren Commission are inevitable IMO.

Same thing as in golf, determine exact shot distance. Frankly, essentially zero drop at that range from a 5.56, moderate chance that was part of his ploy to draw attention to himself. Kid was a member at local rifle club he and his dad frequented 25 minutes from their house.

Fine, but there needs to be massive conditions placed on it.

All hearings 100% public.

Chairman needs to be from outside of the D.C. bubble (state AG, head of state law enforcement agency, etc.)

Trump and Republicans select 2/3rds of the commission.

No one involved in the January 6th committee, or either Trump impeachment can be on the commission

All information from each hearing is posted online as soon as each hearing is completed.

Only redacted information would be names of civilian witnesses if they request it; all law enforcement names would not be redacted.

When the commission finishes, all information it gathered regarding the shooter, law enforcement failures, etc. but not publicly presented, is posted online, including the notes taken by every single FBI agent.

Warren Commission: why was Jack Ruby allowed in with a small caliber handgun? Uhhhhhhhhhhh

Trump (for lack of a better name) Commission: why was this guy allowed on the roof with an AR-15? Uhhhhhhhh

All I'm saying is that if you guys think the SS is going to take any blame whatsoever, I've got a bridge for sale you might be interested in. They are going to blame the locals, who in turn will blame the Feds lack of oversight. That's my guess.

Yeah but at the end of the day, it's the responsibility of the USSS to protect their protectee. They can't get around that.

Here is a good pic of the vantage point from Trumps perspective. The roof of the building in the top left was the shooter's perch.

There is no way you don't have that building secured and someone on top of of it.

Building the shooter was on is to the right of this photo. See location of the red combine relative to the path of the shots

Judging off this aerial photo I think this is the building in that photo

Was that building in front of Trump secured?
If not, another miss for the SS.

But, I guess, why would you immediately think the shooter is your son? This raises further questions about what they thought he was capable of beforehand. Or if he left them a note or something.

Perhaps saw one of the images online of the body and he recognized the Demolition Ranch shirt.

Would explain how they did a quick DNA test to confirm identity; they had someone to test it against within hours.

Well, you see, the roof was really slopey, and we didn't want anyone to slide off, and it was also really hot that day, and well, heat rises, and it's a roof, so the roof would be even hotter than the ground, and it's really slopey. So, yeah.

Correct, however his AR had both a scope and suppressor. Crooks and his father were members of the Clairton Sportsmen's Club, in Clairton, Pa., just 20 minutes from their home. And a club lawyer confirmed Monday that they were in fact members and had target practice their fairly often since 2015.

Crooks lived in a small, one-story brick home with his parents, Matthew and Mary, who have so far declined to publicly comment on the attack.

The Crookses have owned their 1,000-square-foot ranch-style home since 1998, the same year they married and five years before their son Thomas was born.

Matthew and Mary Crooks have both been licensed counselors for over two decades, Pennsylvania state records show, a certification that requires a master's degree or higher. A LinkedIn profile lists Matthew Crooks'semployer as a company that provides mental health care, but the company did not respond to requests for comment. Matthew Crooks also owns a business called C&F Professional Disability Services based out of his mother-in-law's Pittsburgh home, records show.

I have not seen any 'informed speculation' he was prescribed SSRI's (linked to shooters) but with parents as counselors that makes sense. With health records being so digitized this is something an honest investigation could quickly make public.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) The rifle brand used in Saturday's attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump is owned by the parent company of South Carolina-based Palmetto State Armory, which runs a branch in Myrtle Beach, USA Today reported on Tuesday.

In 2023, Trump toured Palmetto State Armory's Summerville plant, posing with its owner.

The model and make is listed as DPMS Panther DR-15 16" M4 5.56 1/7 PHOS 13.5" M-LOK MOE RIFLE. Standard magazine capacity is 30 rounds in 5,56 caliber. Chrome-moly vanadium steel barrel chambered in 5.56 NATO, with a 1:8 twist rate, M4 barrel extension, and a mid-length gas system. This A2 profile barrel is finished off with a 13.5" DPMS M-Lok free-float handguard, low-profile gas block, and A2 flash hider.

USA Today said a similar type of gun was recovered by authorities in the 2015 San Bernardino attack where 14 people were killed and another 22 injured.

"DPMS stands for Defense Procurement Manufacturing Services. Founded in 1985, it was a defense contractor started by Randy Luth.
