Wisconsin is an open carry state.
not an "open carry a rifle on top of a building and point it at an ex President state"

No way he turned fired and made that shot. Not possible under that pressure. That first shot was spot on.
With an Italian bolt-action rifle no less.
Did I miss something???

Yes, the joke…Lee Harvey Oswald reference. Italian bolt action found on 6th floor.

This 6th floor??

These dudes. Not the two guys who ducked then knocked their rifle around.

Didn't the USSS stating state the shot was 400 yards? I've read other sources stating same.

From the perch to Trump was 413 feet not yards

"He was outside the perimeter."

Okay… who defined where the perimeter was?

"Uh… next question!"

Are we to believe from the SS that there it's common for people to open carry 150 yards from Trump and this wouldn't raise any flags? Is that a normal thing at his rallies?
You are confusing the situation in Wisconsin, which is the subject of the current news conference (where the SS is doggedly refusing to answer questions about yesterday) with the situation in Pennsylvania.

No. They were talking about the upcoming RNC. Specifically didn't talk about this event.

They asked specifically how was someone able to walk around with a rifle so close to the president and the response was because he was outside the perimeter it's state law that you can open carry

The question was about how was someone able to carry a rifle that close to Trump, how would that be about Milwaukee and not about yesterday?

I have a ton of questions, but I keep coming back to them using DNA and biometrics to id him. First that is really quick to get a DNA match and there has to be someone in the system to match it to or he is. His car was there. Wouldn't that be how they figured it out, but why say DNA and biometrics as the link. Since they didn't say the id was done by the car, either the cops made the id or he was known and they just arent admitting it.

I still suspect that was just the bs cover to get meta and google to scrub him from the internet.

Because Milwaukee is all they are talking about. They have refused all questions regarding yesterday.

Walking around with a rifle on a sling and being in a prone position on top of a roof with barrel pointed at a former president are two different things

They were taking about the RNC. The lady was discussing the inner perimeter being federal jurisdiction. She then deferred to her city counterparts. And the chief of police started describing state law as to why peopel will be able to open carry in the outer perimeter at the RNC. I believe they specifically did not discuss the PA event. unless it was a different part of the presser. But the news talking heads were frustrated that they refused to talk about PA

That you can carry a rifle legally, that you were able to carry a rifle and a ladder, and, scale a building, and lie in a sniper position, and do all of this with a sightline to a former POTUS, and current candidate... is, well, almost unvelievable. I think this is why folks are questioning whether this is chalked up to resources/incompetence.

I have worked with USSS on my sites (intetionally left vague), and in my experience they were thorough and requested changes to diminimize risks as POTUS passed through said sites.

of course, the same 'rules' would apply at PA (so probably get same response if they decide to discuss it, begging the question of 'what idiot defined this perimeter'). and of course, open-carry and actually pointing a rifle at someone (much less lying in a prone position aiming at their head) are obviously different, with latter not being bueno under state law either...

Same news report saying the Feds have ruled out accomplices and confirmed he acted alone, but also saying the Feds have not been able to access his phone yet…

I tend to think he did act alone, but wouldn't they need that phone information to be able to speak so definitively?

150 yards tops is not a long ass way away. The wind was also not that significant of a factor unless this was a massive subsonic round tumbling at around 1000fps

lol. Yep. Bad reporting.

Still, 500' is a long shot if he just spin and shot. If the cop was breathing down on him like reported, he wouldn't had the time to get fully set and braced.

Again, if the report I commented on is true, then this guy was an expert marksman.
160 yards is not a long shot by any means. It's actually a fairly easy shot to pull off. Marines--every single one- are trained to fire from 200, 300, and 500 meters in Boot Camp. The 200 meter shots are actually rapid fire. That's with iron sights, in a standing, or 'off hand' shooting position. No scope or additional aid at all.

lol. Marines.

That's kind of my point.

I definitely wouldn't rule it out. I don't trust the leadership of current tres letras a single bit. They are true enemies of the people and America frankly. I just find it odd how they can say both things simultaneously. Obviously they realize most people will simply go with that story line now regardless of any future evidence.

The irony is, no branch of service teaches head shots while at basic/boot. They threaten to kick you off and disqualify you if your paper target comes back with shots in the head or around (obvious)

Now, using up left over rounds after everyone has qualified for "head shots" or whatever... still not common but it happens.
