Really glad he's okay. And kudos to him for showing some personal courage in the immediate aftermath. That "stay strong" fist was pretty epic.

He has a unique opportunity to try to get the dangerous, demonizing rhetoric toned down. He's not the guy you would have picked for that job, but these circumstances have given him that platform.

Hope he takes it and doesn't say anything to inflame things further. And it would also be to his electoral beneift to show a more statesmanlike side right now.

This country needs to tone down the rhetoric in general, and this is a great opportunity to maybe swing the pendulum back a little bit.

From the video it sounded like a soon as the shooter fired a couple of rounds there was a 2-3 second break and then the SS blasted him by the sound of the next shots.
