Biden caught in another lie about FEMA aid to Texas.

According to a press report, the aid is only authorized for 5-9 July. Biden authorized aid after delaying on 9 July. It's also authorized for only half of the counties he promised Lt Governor Patrick.

I saw that article earlier today. With everything going on with Biden, why the hell is his administration playing politics with Texas over this? It's not like it will help the dems doing this.

Man, Biden land Hidalgo are truly horse's a**es. Democrats always lie about aid then blame the problems on Republicans to cover for their incompetence.

Same song, 100th verse.

Yep, if they start doling out fed spending and disaster aid according to Red or Blue voting patterns then it is time to leave. I figured that eventually Dems/Libs would start doing this to punish Red Voters.

With Texas using a ton of its own money and resources on the border and the feds using FEMA to play politics with us over Hurricane Beryl, what's the point of Texans paying federal taxes?

Excellent point. The federal government throws our money around like it's nothing and then when a real need comes around, they deny the funds. Absolutely disgusting politics.

They know they won't win Texas. Hussein is doing this for the same reason he gave New York a space shuttle and not Texas: He hates us.

It's really simple. The news of the disaster declaration was all over the news. This is the first I've seen about some being canceled. They will campaign on Republican led Texas failing to provide after the wonderful Biden administration provided the aid.

Fine. Texas has plenty of our tax money saved up. Spend some of it where needed.

Do any of you guys remember when Hurricane Sandy devastated to the Northeast back in 2012, and the entire Texas GOP Delegation (and Ted Cruz) voted against it? That had never been done before. Disaster Relief for any part of the country was never politicized. Until you clowns did it.

You do nothing but mock and demonize the rest of the Good Old USA..."Federal Tyranny!!!"

Yeah, you hate us Blue Staters, but you sure don't hate my Blue State money.

FEMA to the Rescue!!!

Because the Texas GOP couldn't run a Hot Dog Stand.

Please get your filthy Red State hands out of my Blue State pocket...you Moochers.

Yes. Because, as always, the dims loaded a bunch of bull**** into the bill that had nothing to do with the hurricane. The dims were playing politics and then lied so people like you would parrot their lies.

Good job. This is nothing at all like that.

I looked at that Sandy Relief Bill. The Republicans said it was loaded with "pork" that was not related to Hurricane Relief. Sure. most of what they were referring to was funds to purchase more Hurricane Hunter Aircraft, and improved avionics on said aircraft. But the Texas GOP had to resort to Political Theatrics as always..."We showed them Libs!!!!'

You guys are just plain infantile.

Quote:

Here's the CBO score. Note when the bulk of money was actually expected to be spent. According to CBO's outlay tables, 24 billion dollars of the allocated funds weren't expected to be spent until 2016 or after. The hurricane, for reference, was in 2012. And according to CBO, nearly 4 billion of the spending in that bill didn't even pretend to be for emergencies: 3.459 billion was actually designated as non-emergency spending.

The bill itself is here. Its summary is here. Cruz's statement at the time on the Sandy bill is here. And the Roll Call vote is here. Here is a Heritage report about the bill at the time. Here is fiscal hawk Tom Coburn on the problems with emergency disaster bills. And here are some things you will find if you read all of these, including specific spending in the Sandy relief bill that has nothing to do with emergency needs or any relation to disaster relief:

16,000,000,000 dollars for Community Development Block Grants (11 billion higher than HUD was requesting at the time)
600,000,000 for State and Tribal Assistance Grants under the EPA
348,000,000 for "construction" for the National Park Service
100,000,000 for Head Start
50,000,000 for the Historic Preservation Fund at the NPS
45,000,000 for upgrades to NOAA aircraft
22,000,000 for upgrading NOAA weather equipment
50,000,000 for "construction" for Fish and Wildlife Services
24,000,000 for the Defense Working Capital Fund
10,000,000 to Small Business Administration to plus up grants to organizations seeking to participate in disaster relief
4,400,000 for "capital improvement" to the Forestry Service
3,000,000 for oil spill research
2,000,000 for the Smithsonian's famously leaky roofs.
1,000,000 for new cars for the DEA.
1,000,000 to the Legal Services Corporation.

There's more than that, but this seems to be the most obvious examples. Consider this question: even today, five years removed from Sandy, how much of these billions of dollars in appropriated taxpayer money remains to be spent?

Progs wouldn't know the truth if it hit them where their balls used to be.

TEXIT means we don't have to deal with federal problems like us paying federal taxes then the federal government withholding funds in times of an emergency.

Texans would deal with our own problems rather than be dependent on the whims of what the majority of 49 other states think, via Biden for example.

Assuming elections still happen in Texas after texit, the idiots that dominate these counties will still be voting for the same people they currently are. Houston, Austin and San Antonio will continue to be a problem in multiple ways.

Yea I don't think the scorecard is correct here. Isn't the declaration for damage incurred during those dates? Patrick may have preemptively declared 121 counties, does it mean all were impacted? I'm not buying this piece from the Texas Scorecard.
