Yeah, been working on converting an old abandoned building into a 60 unit apartment for 4 years!

Lots of evidence they have quit trying.

Visit Northern California anywhere around Avenue of the Giants. The newest resorts are 50 years old and dilapidated. The grocery stores are turning into uhaul centers.

Drive between San Diego and La Jolla. Hotels and resorts are run down. Whole swaths of the city looks like it was from the 80s, despite it being blocks away from primo beaches and ocean.

No one wants to risk capital to fix things up

We attended our niece's HS graduation in Half Moon Bay in 2019. Last day we had a few hours before our flight out of SFO so we decided to walk out on the Golden Gate to see the view. And then I told the fam to drink it in cause we're never coming back. And my wife responded, uh yeah, no sh**
