Typically, candidates need time to build a name for themselves. I think the democrats believe they can win with a cognizant non-Trump candidate combined with their election machine. Why unveil the candidate early to let their their flaws be examined and scrutinized?

I agree. Using Biden as a puppet has been a flawless scheme. He doesn't answer for anything at all, not even selling classified information.

Even better is that no one is constitutionally accountable. Biden isn't running the country and we don't really know who is.

I was positing a theory on why it hasn't happened yet - to limit the window of criticism for whomever it is

- Why replace the puppet?

Because of the risk of not being able to overcome his horrendous polling with their "GOTV" machine.

- Can't passover Kamala

She can be bought off and pressured and they have all of Hollywood to invent a narrative the gullible will happily swallow

- Not Hilary because Trump beat her

If the 2020 machine was in place in 2016, she would have coasted to victory. Heck, she might have won in 2016 had she listened to Bill. She and the left were just too cocky and spiked the football before the end zone. I despise that woman, but she is a patron saint to the left and many white suburban women want to hold her up as a hero despite her politics.

It is pervasive because the guy is literally demented.

There is not one sane person in the United States that can watch that dude in public and think he is capable of leading the country.

Last three polls have Biden +2, Biden +1, Biden tied.

why would they replace him?!?!

a corpse is beating Trump at this point BEFORE the campaign even begins.

Biden +2 in the popular vote count is a loss for him in the electoral college

So the question you really should be asking is can Newsom outperform Biden by +2? Clearly he would.

I've been predicting since fall of 2022 that HRC would replace Biden. I have been ridiculed, similarly to early 2021 when I insisted COVID came from a lab.

Right now, the HRC "rumor" is floating around so that dems in denial won't be too upset when the delegates throw their support behind her at the DNC. They loved Bernie and hated Hillary in 2016, then the party screwed him over for her. No one has the same love for Biden like they did Bernie, Biden is in on it, so this won't even be hard. Dem voters are NPCs with no principles, so after a few days they will promote the person they hated and claimed had no chance to beat Trump.

I don't think they are confident. I think they are panicking and worried about a meltdown so bad they can't wink and say "cheap fake" their way out of it.

Just like the dems were ecstatic when Republicans nominated Trump again, republicans will be thrilled if this somehow happens. She'd lose even worse than Biden or Kamala. Likability is possibly the most important quality in a mainstream candidate now and she's about as unlikeable as you can get.

If they don't replace Biden, the only thing that makes sense in my mind at this point is that the dems are ok with a 50/50-ish shot at losing in November knowing that it'll result in an even bigger swing back to the left in '26 and '28. Otherwise keeping Biden at this point makes absolutely zero sense.

From what I've heard Biden's real approval rate is around 10%. He's a dead man walking.....literally

He's going to be replaced it's just a matter of when.

IMO they do it at the Convention.

Speaking of Obama, has anyone ever seen an article (well, more than one) of all of the folks from the Biden administration who regularly walk into the Obama DC $9 million home?

I've read one article about one month ago stating the regular comings and goings of Biden Administration offcials from the Obama home.

I don't have details, but assuming the article was accurate and not a crap writer, then it should be something folks pay attention to. Since NO one in the regular media would ever consider making it news, or certainly report this, I would hope other writers would be able to investigate.

Just an fyi.
Hate is how progressives sustain themselves. Without hate, introspection begins to slip into the progressive's consciousness, threatening the progressive with the truth: that their ideas and opinions are illogical, hypocritical, dangerous, and asinine.
This is backed by data.

The best chance Biden has of winning is if Trump is the Republican nominee.
The best chance Trump has of winning is if Biden is the Democrat nominee.

It would make sense for the Democrats to wait for Trump to become the official Republican nominee and then switch to a Democrat regarded as far better than Biden.

There is no Democrat better than Biden, they're all degenerate half wits that are nothing more than puppets of the evil and greedy people that fund them. Representative of their brainwashed voters they are, I'll give them that.

are you living in an alternate reality where you don't see the Fox News Poll today showing Biden +2?

yes Biden is not popular and is apocryphal, but if Trump is even LESS popular and more hated

than Biden still wins another term

to protect our democracy(tm), dem voters who didn't get a choice in the democratic primaries to choose their candidate, and also had proof of their candidate's corruption wiped off the face of the internet four years ago before the election, and had their people's choice (Bernie) usurped four years ago, will again not get to choose their candidate.

but don't worry, the political opposition that is against big gov socialist regime is the threat to our democracy(tm)

Replace Kamala with Hilary as the VP running mate and when Joe croaks, she'll finally get her wish to be POTUS.

Theory being that Kamala is a drag on the ticket because no one wants her in the Oval office but more voters would be okay with Hillary in the Oval?

Not sure of that. People can believe Kamala is a ditz but they don't hate her. People hate Hillary, even within the Dem party particularly the Obama people.

I heard that also. It included the "Wise Latina" resigning from the SC and being replaced by Kamala. Then Hillary would become VP and replace Biden when he resigns. Sounds crazy but I would put nothing past the libs/marxists.

Doesnt matter that Obama hates Biden, it is about power and control. And there are three factions going for the throne and then there is Jill who has put a wrench in things. Obama/Jarrett want to keep the power. Hillary wants in. Pelosi wants Newsome in. Jill thinks she has a card to play.

Fair point that likeability matters, usually. In any other circumstance HRC would be doomed. That's precisely why it's such a strong possibility now. The ONLY way HRC looks likable is standing next to a dementia ridden gaffe machine. Mainstream libs are already acknowledging Biden is unfit, so HRC in contrast isn't worse.

The reality is that the DNC and Dem brass don't care about strategy and putting a slick talking guy like Newsom in there. This is HRC's last shot at the WH, and they will all get behind her. Newsom has plenty of time. Opinions of dems voters is irrelevant, they are all NPCs.

2024 is about 2016 revenge. Weigh Trump down with felony baggage and scare everyone into voting against him. Use abortion, climate change, and racism to increase turnout. Then just harvest ballots and stuff boxes in swing states to make up the difference.

I live in the reality that Biden +2 in the popular vote is very likely a loss in the electoral college.

And correct me if I am wrong, but Trump overperformed June polling by quite a bit on Election Day in both 2016 and 2020, meaning a 2 point advantage now is likely fools gold for the dems.

Democrats changed their rules for Biden Scenario. If Biden gets nomination and quits or can't serve, a committee gets to replace him. they do not need to go back to the convention. Small group gets to pick.

Very democratic of them.
This is hardly surprising. It doesn't seem possible that either major party could schedule another convention at the last minute to replace the nominee.

Hilary is like that sticker burr in your boot and isn't going away. She ran in '08 and '16 w/o success, but has committed so much vitriol towards Trump, this would be her likely last chance to get in. For this to happen, Kamala will have some "circumstance" where she can't run w/ Biden.

Hilary thinks she "deserves" to be be in the WH and will probably add to the Clinton body count to get in. I hope she fails, but have a feeling she'll do whatever she can do to continue to push the narrative.

No one candidate (or group) on the left has proven they can lead....or maybe they are so committed to Biden (Obama), they told them to back down. A rational individual or party would have hoped they would have at least pushed someone over a year ago. Whether or not they would be the choice this term, it would at least put them on the map if/when the Dems lose.

I haven't even had any bourbon today and I find myself trying to rationalize for the Dems.

Trump 2024!
