Here.
Don't know if there is much more to say.
I just checked and the country, and the world even, are still here. I can pretty much guarantee it'll be the same tomorrow, and the day after...
Because you can only see what you want to.
Is anyone's life forever changed by this verdict? Will parents no longer have their children to love and be loved by? Will the engaged be ripped apart from each other, never to be seen from ever again? Will your bank account go down to zero tomorrow? Have you been fired by your boss once the verdict came out? Etc. Etc.
Just one more step towards removing the rule of law.
This opens the door for bad things. The precedent that selective political prosecution in a kangaroo court is a bad one for everyone.
What happens when you get a real backlash from the American people, and the next GOP nominee is more politically savvy and unafraid to use his populist power to consolidate power and do some real damage to the country. The rule of law should be there to restrain the government. If you tear it down, what happens next? When you get a popular power hungry tyrant in power that starts trying all the Democrat politicians in Federal court in the Eastern district of Texas, what are we going to be able to do?
