Darker is higher IQ averages, lighter is lower. Map is interactive at the site. Texas ranks in at 97.4 according to this data. New Mexico at 95 and La. at 95.2.

State average means nothing for individuals like us, of course.

Not surprising since we've allowed our system to become so corrupt and incompetent. Kids ands their education are nothing more than pawns to exploit and make cultural changes. The very thing we supposedly teach them (critical thinking) is now chastised and labeled as hate speech. I feel for young parents trying to navigate the bull*****

At six weeks kids go to day care. Level of learning is not what a Mom could give, unless you spend the big bucks for daycare.
Also, when kids are at home they are perched in front of tv or given a phone. And you don't have to be super smart to teach your kid, just a desire to make him better

Right. We hand our kids devices and plug their young brains into the internet, sometimes without limitations. These kids aren't on Google searching the basics about trigonometry or kinematics.

My oldest son is 13. He just got a phone. It took him about a week to ruin it when we found out he was seeing things that he shouldn't be seeing. Didn't know about the Bark app, but we got it on there now.

IQ tests are standardized over decades. I'm no expert but I would think if it's really going down the publishers would lower the metrics. They want to keep 100 as the average score.

People refuse to understand that it's exactly this. IQ is directly proportional to racial statistics of any individual area. It always breaks down by the following: Asians, Whites, Hispanics, and then Blacks. This is true no matter the nation on the planet. The less white the US gets the lower the IQ. Same thing is happening in Europe.

He said this in 1990, and thanks to the interwebs and schools teaching only for yearly tests, it was inevitable that it would get worse.

Also, I'm sure no one's surprised at what states are doing the worst.

Education is big, big business!! From the payroll at Jessie's Creek ISD where teachers are highest paid in town and keep the Piggly Wiggly open and a place to go on Tuesday and Friday night, to huge Universities printing T shirts and building stadiums and keeping the hotels full along with high rent condos and duplexes.
Hopefully there are few students and profs interested in continuing engineering, science and medicine- without watering down the requirements and curriculum.

what i don't understand is why this can't be true for IQ, but on the sports field it can.

What IQ is measuring isn't affected much by education. There aren't many "activities" that are shown to have tangible increases to IQ

The very idea of IQ is that it is a test of intelligence (genetics you are born with) and not knowledge (what you can gain through study).

Thus, the fact politics precludes the inclusion of racial DNA as an influence on IQ is simply absurd. A basic eyeball test of population / cultural / societal advancement by race shows you it matters.

And there is nothing racist about stating this. It's simply a fact and all the evidence bears that out. Of course, there are always outliers to this but it's generally true.
